Around the fleet the wormhole remained as it had, but ahead space seemed to be pulsing. Even as he watched the pulses started to travel down the walls of the Wormhole. “Sir,” the ship’s captain said. “The wormhole appears to be collapsing. I suggest we increase to full speed to get clear as soon as possible.” Vorn considered the proposal. That was another difference between jump space and real space. In jump space it was impossible to change speed or direction. The Jump engines thrust a ship into jump space with an initial speed and they ripped the ship back into real space. In between they were as ineffective as thrusters. Here, though, the ships could manoeuvre
