KILLER'S DISTRICT

YULIANA DRAGONORA (PRESENT) "Yulia" yells one of the servants. I take one last look in the mirror and put my ash blonde hair in a bun in a hurry. my emerald earrings shining brightly in the mirror. i fix my sea green gown before taking a deep breath and walking out of my room and making my way to the hall. I'm extremely nervous today. its the big day. today is the day me and charles my younger brother go to give our test for our careers. every year an examination is held and it is for only those who want to work in redrooks government system. Redrook the city in which i live. working for the government system is a very big deal in redrook you can only take the test if your are of a high family name or if your city or family has helped the government system by making big donations. the test is to check if the student is eligible to work in the government fields. by fields i mean two careers one is the political field which is for those who strategise redrook's wars. they are the planners , the organisers of events and all sorts of wars and battles. then there is the army of redrook. they are our cities protectors those who fight the war and protect the people and our dragons. the army is the only field in which you are chosen by a dragon on which you fight wars. our city is known for our strong and humongous dragons. our aunt and uncle want us to complete their legacy by going into politics and that has been charles passion but never mine. i know i was made for completing my father's legacy by going into the army. I am well fit for it. political parties were never my thing and I have shown respect to my aunt and uncle I never once raised my voice during the times they brought up and raised me and my younger brother and I'd willingly do anything for them but i am not ready to give them my career. my dreams. the thing for which i am living. So now they think me and Charles are going to give out and apply for the political team but in reality they'll have to accept that i went to the armies team. i walk down the stairs and see charles dressed in a black suit with a maroon tie. im wearing a beautiful sea green gown with golden floral patterns on it. my emerald earrings go very well qith my outfit. i see my uncle in a suit and I nod as a greeting to him and sit on the table. my aunt gives me a small smile which i return. charles glances at me . "I am very proud of both of you. today is the big day which you trained for since you were children merely five. go give your exam and rise your family name for your parents who could not join us in this memorable day. " says my uncle with a bright grin on his face. we say our last goodbyes before me and charles walk to the stables to get our horses. "Are you excited?" asks my younger brother from beside me. "Charles you have been my friend since forever and i think you deserve to know this". charles raises his eyebrows in question. "Im taking the test for the military team" i say quietly. "What? But aunt and uncle did they allow it? come on yulia it was a small dream you had growing up you were supposed to leave that delusion when you grew up. you have to accept what we do isn't in our hands." says charles adding an exasperated sigh at the end. "Mind your words Charles. I dont care if they dont want me to go in that field .all I care about is that I gave my whole childhood pleasing aunt and uncle by over achieving and that hasn't gotten me anywhere and that fact is evident. so I'll chose my own career by the time they find out I'll be done so they wont be able to do anything about it." i say in a fierce tone. Charles stares at me for a few minutes before sitting on his horse and nodding to me directing me to do the same. I sit on my horse and we're off. we stay quiet half the ride when a few hours later Charles breaks the silence . "Your very brave you know. and once you get there be strong and please,please live for me alright?your the only family I have left. " im instantly hit with the fact that my brother is scared of losing me. thats why he never agreed. "Ofcourse I'll live thats the least of my worries charles. and besides we'll be able to see each other in the planning meetings." i say gently. and within a few hours a total pf two to three we reach the court. the court of redrook is a big court which is where all tge soldiers and politicians gather to strategise redrook's wars and battles or other events. thats from where they take to the main exam area which is decided differently every year this is only for the military team as their tests are all physical it is rumoured to be extremely deadly where majority of the participants die trying to qualify but as much as that scares me I wasn't made to give up. we hug for the last time and its a tight and long hug. we walk in and there is alot of light and everyone is seated in the hall. all of the hall is full of seats and there is one stage ahead with a mic and a pair of speakers. the hall has many people all of them seated nervously. Charles takes a seat in the other end of the hall since there is a barrier creating two sides one for the military and the other for the military. I take a seat randomly at the front rows. I sit for a few minutes when someone taps me on tge shoulder distracting me from my thoughts. I tilt my head to the side and a girl with dark blue hair looks at me with a huge grin . I return her smile sweetly. "Im Monica verscotti !! the girl says excitedly. I've heard of this name somewhere before. Oh yes ! the verscotti 's are a royal family. the royal family from another city that are our neighbouring city. "Im yuliana dragonora. " i say. "Oh my gosh we're both influential and popular im a princess and well your family name is quite popular." I smile at her words. "I came to this place to distraction. I'll make loads of friends and live the but of my life before its taken from me when im crowned" she says sadly. Even though I dont relate I understand how it feels to get your life taken away from you. A loud voice interrupts our conversation "Welcome Everyone to the examination of REDROOK'S governing teams. there are specifically two fields in which you can enter. One is the military team with fighting enforcement they train you to fight wars for redrook's people. the other option is entering the political system in which yiu strategise the wars FOR redrook's military enforcement. Each fields exam is hard in their own accord as for the military team they're test will be taken physically. and the political enforcement will give a written test." that is what the public figure infront of the mic says. before directing us to enter rooms based on which exam we will take.
