MY LOVE AND CEREMONY
“It is going to be a good day,” James murmured as he glanced at the clock, a smile forming at his lips. He kissed Betty's neck gently, savoring the warmth of her skin. They lay spooned in bed, the early morning light casting a soft glow on their bodies. James turned to her, his hand moving up her neck before capturing her lips in a tender kiss. “I love my fire,” he whispered, looking gently into her eyes. “You are everything to me, the best Luna I could ever ask for. No one else compares.” The fire in Betty's eyes mirrored his own passion, their love a fierce, unyielding flame. James and Betty had been seeing each other in secret for some time, despite the strict traditions of their kind. Each generation, a new Alpha would rise to lead the four factions of the werewolf clans, claiming a wife from the Lunas to bear children for the next generation. James, the heir to the throne of Crando, had fallen ill with love for Betty, destined to be his Luna. They were bound by fate, their union preordained, but their hearts had brought them together long before the official ceremony. Spending time together in secret had been both a joy and a torment. They dared not defy the ancient laws, so their love remained hidden, a precious secret between them. “I love my King,” Betty said softly, caressing James’s smooth face with a tender hand. Her touch was light as a feather, sending shivers down his spine. She smiled and kissed him again, her lips warm and inviting. “Tonight, it won’t be a secret anymore,” she added, her voice filled with excitement. “We will stand before everyone, proud and united, after the ritual transformation.” “I can’t wait to be yours forever,” James replied, his voice husky with emotion. “This secret relationship is killing me.” He kissed her neck again, his hands roaming over her body. He loved her with a fervor that made his heart race. Their union was not just a matter of love; it was a necessity. They were to create the new generation of werewolves, future rulers of Crando. “So, what are you wearing to the event tonight?” James asked as he got out of bed to head to the bathroom. “The blue velvet gown you bought me for my twenty-second birthday,” Betty replied, stretching luxuriously on the bed, her naked body form partially covered by the white sheets. James paused, looking at her with admiration. Her beauty was breathtaking, her perky breasts and sensual curves captivating him. He remembered the day he first saw her at his father’s howling ceremony. She had been the light in his dark days after his father passed away, caring for him like no other. When the announcement was made that Betty would be his Luna, he knew their fate was sealed. “That dress is old,” James said thoughtfully. “It was from two years ago, and we weren’t even dating then.” “But you were crushing on me,” Betty teased with a mischievous smile. “I was,” James admitted, smiling back. “But you’re going to be the queen of Crando. Don’t you want to wear something that exudes power and grace?” Betty looked at him thoughtfully. “What would you like me to wear, my King?” James hadn’t really thought about it, but he was certain it shouldn’t be the blue velvet dress. “Something that shows off your figure and makes you look regal,” he suggested. He leaned down to kiss her again, his desire for her growing stronger he pulled to the middle of the bed to let out his male hardness inserted into her. Their moment was interrupted by the heavy toll of the bell, signaling that the soon-to-be king was absent from the throne. “Oh dear, they’re looking for me,” James said, reluctantly pulling away. He hurriedly dressed, then turned back to Betty, giving her one last kiss. “See you this evening, my love.” James knew the pathways well, having bribed most of the guards to cover for him. As the council members began to search for him, he slipped out discreetly. The guards, aware of his arrangements, delayed the council just enough for him to make his way back. When the council finally reached his room and opened the door, James was there, pretending to have just woken up. They suspect nothing, and James breathes a sigh of relief. Tonight, he would finally declare his love for Betty before the entire realm, and their secret would become their greatest triumph. THE CEREMONY James stood in his chamber, the anticipation of the night’s full moon weighing heavily on him. His council, ever attentive, hovered nearby, one of them breaking the silence with a question. “My lord, what would you love to eat?” “You know I can't eat,” James replied, a note of impatience in his voice. “The full moon is about to rise, and I need to be light to transform properly.” A knock interrupted them. “Yes, come in,” James called out. The door opened to reveal Manuel, the loyal Hand of the former king, who had been retained by the council to serve James as well. Manuel's presence was a constant reminder of his father's reign and a source of both comfort and pressure. “Thank you, Manuel,” James said. “Your parents would be proud of you, wherever they are under the moon,” Manuel responded with a warm smile. “Thank you,” James replied, his voice tinged with anxiety. “I don’t know... I feel so uneasy.” “You look nervous, my king, and that is perfectly fine,” Manuel said reassuringly. “Was my father nervous too?” James asked, searching Manuel’s face for reassurance. “Haha! He was worse,” Manuel chuckled. “He almost didn’t want to become king. He thought he didn’t deserve it.” James managed a weak smile. “Well, thank you, Manuel. I feel better.” “I will check to see if Luna is ready for the coronation. It is almost time,” Manuel said, bowing and exiting the room. James stood alone, staring at his reflection, trying to muster confidence. The full moon was nearing, a harbinger of his imminent transformation and ascension to the throne. It also marked the end of his private relationship with Betty, as they both would soon be crowned rulers of Crondo. As James stepped out, the sight before him was both overwhelming and exhilarating. The courtyard was filled with joyous people, their laughter and cheers resonating through the air. Women danced, making the men happy, and meat of all kinds was being roasted. The aroma mixed with the scent of wine, creating a frenzy atmosphere of celebration. This event, the crowning of a new king, happened once every century, and the people of Crondo embraced it with fervor, knowing they might never witness another. Manuel, a figure of wisdom and longevity, had seen three centuries pass. He had served great kings and watched them fall, yet he remained steadfast and resolute. James took his place on the throne, with Betty by his side. Manuel, standing tall as the Hand of the King, raised his goblet to propose a toast. “Long live the people of Crondo. May the transition of a new king bring peace and prosperity to our land,” Manuel declared. “And in all, we live and in all, we die,” the people responded in unison. The full moon reached its peak, and James felt a rush of fear. Betty's comforting touch calmed him as he sipped the ceremonial wine, a potion to aid his transformation. The process began immediately, excruciatingly. His bones cracked and reshaped, claws sprouted from his fingers, and his fangs extended. He grew three feet taller, his form becoming the embodiment of an Alpha. The pain was intense, but James endured it, proving his worthiness as king. When his transformation was complete, the people knelt, acknowledging their new ruler. They cheered and celebrated as James reverted to his human form and dressed quickly. Now it was Betty’s turn. Betty stepped forward, visibly nervous. The full moon shone brightly as she drank the wine and began to howl. Her cries filled the air, but the transformation did not come. They repeated the process, but still, nothing happened. A heavy silence fell over the crowed. James, frustrated and humiliated, stormed out of the ceremony. Betty stood in tears, her failure stark and public. Meanwhile, Manuel watched the scene unfold, a sinister smile curling his lips. “Finally, I am about to win again,” he whispered to himself, his eyes gleaming with a hidden new agenda. The night’s events left a profound impact on all present. The jubilation of the coronation was cut short by an unexpected event, casting a shadow over what should have been a night of triumph. For James, the journey to solidifying his rule had just begun, fraught with unforeseen challenges and betrayals. And for Manuel, the evening hinted at deeper schemes and long-buried ambitions, now rising to the surface under the light of the full moon.
