CHAPTER 27
Ariel's POV
It was a picture of Dermos and Luciana, together.
They were standing on a beach with their arms around each other. The picture seemed to radiate happiness, and I felt like I was intruding on a moment that wasn't meant for me to see.
I stared at the picture, and for some reason, my heart ached.
But soon, I heard footsteps outside the study, and I quickly shoved the picture into my pocket without thinking, trying to push the thoughts away.
I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself, and walked out of the study, shutting the door behind me.

The cityscape of Milan blurred past the car window as we drove through the streets.
I stared out, my mind was a million miles away. It had been a long journey, but we'd finally made it.
