CHAPTER 9 Ariel's POV I stood there, frozen in terror, as Dermos finally stopped. His chest was heaving, and his eyes were burning with an intensity that made my skin prickle badly. He took a step back, his gaze raking over me. “Time is ticking, Ariella.” That was all he said before he was gone, leaving me a shaking mess. I felt like I'd been holding my breath for hours, and finally, I let it out in a painful gasp. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to hold it together, but my legs felt like jelly.
