CHAPTER 10
Ariel's POV
My eyes widened, gaze shifting downwards to Darmos’ hand.
Shit. I shouldn't have come to his office!
But luckily, he removed his hand as quickly. I swallowed hard, trying to come up with a believable excuse. “I.. I was just looking for you.” I blurted out, feeling my heart sink as the words left my lips.
Gosh, I was bad at lying when I needed it the most!
Dermos's eyes darkened, his expression turning icy. “Are you lying?”
I felt a shiver run down my spine as he took a step closer, his gaze burning into mine. “I’m.. not.”
He studied my face, his eyes moving slowly, like he was trying to decode something. I felt like I was under a microscope, my every flaw and insecurity laid bare.
By now, I just wanted to go back.
His gaze on my skin was hot.
