My Forever Secret

As I drive home for the first time in two years, I'm can't help but feel like s**t. I keep replaying the call I got from Miss O'Neill ( honey I know you are working hard on trying to be here for your mom and she would kill me if she new I was calling but you need to come home. I know with you here she would get better faster. The chemo has taken a lot out of her, and she is in remission, but she is so sad with you so far away. I don't want her to get too depressed and the cancer starts to come back, so please come home. Miss O'Neill isn't just the next-door neighbor. But my childhood best friends mom and my mom's best friend. me and mom had moved in next door to the O'Neill's when me and I were 6 years old. My mom and her mom became instant friends they were both newly single mothers, and even though miss O'Neill was a widower and my dad just took off and left mom and I. They boned over the lost love and motherhood together. I am so grateful that my mom had her and Olivia when I went away for school, even more so now that mom is sick. I just wish I could have been there to help more but now that I was finally able to get my credits and scholarships transfer to school in my hometown I can finish my last year's of college by my mom's side and be with my friend again. It also gave me the best getaway from my crazy ex, who has been following me and harassing me since I broke up with him when I caught him cheating on me. Almost a year ago, I should have done it a lot sooner, but he was a great distraction from the truth. I could never and would never truly love someone the way I do my best friends much older brother. So here goes nothing. I just hope I can keep my feelings for him under r**e's like I have my whole life. If Olivia had ever found out that I was in love with him, I would lose my best friend, and my mom may lose hers as well. I can't let that happen, and Olivia has done so much for me and mom. I could never hurt her like that. Just two more hours and I am home for good. I haven't been home in so long. I have changed a lot in the looks department instead of the chubby glasses girl with frizzy red hair. I finally got contact lenses, learned how to do my makeup, and lost weight. Now you can really see my hourglass shape, and my hair is no longer frizzy but long, beautiful tight curls like it's supposed to be. As I pull up to my childhood home I see that my uncle's bike is here It must be bad he hasn't been here since I was like 7 years old yes he came to visit on holidays and everything. He just never stayed longer than needed. mom wasn't all that happy with the choice he made. To follow in the foot steps of their dad and take over the bicker club when he passed away. Instead of going to college to be a doctor, she loved him and helped raise him when they lost their mom. He turned the club around and is quite well off from all the bars he owns now and has helped my mom and me with her treatments and helped me with whatever my loans and scholarships didn't cover. So here goes nothing. I park my car and get out. I can get my bags later. I can hear mom and miss O'Neill talking in the kitchen with my uncle Gabriel but who is cooking and who is doing dishes tonight. It's just like the holidays when I was a kid. Emily(Elizabeth mom)Gabriel, last time I let you do dishes, I need a whole new dish washer and dishes. I got dishes this time because Rose (Miss O'Neill) cooked. She didn't cook she got take out. Remember the last time she cooked, she almost killed us by burning the house down. Hey to be fair I just got the shock of my life not only was my best friend telling me she was sick and may kill over on me but my little girl happened to tell me she was having a baby with that f*****g s**t head. Ok, let's not bring that up she is safe now and home, and so is that sweet baby Eli, and I am doing way better now. What the hell did you say Olivia has a baby? Why didn't anyone tell me? Gabriel: Watch your mouth, Elizabeth. wait, Elizabeth, what are you doing here? Why aren't you at school? You made it home. How was the drive? my mom came running at me she looked so small and fragile that the chemo really took it out of her she was still very pretty, but you could see she went through a lot. Emily: My baby, you came home. How long are you staying? Why aren't you in school, baby? Elizabeth: we are just avoiding the hole. Olivia has a baby thing, ok? Anyway, I had planned on coming back when I found out you were sick, but it wasn't working out. Tell now, and it's settled. I will go to the local college out here live with you. So I can help more tell you are at a 110%. And I missed you, mom , Rose and Olivia, and uncle. Emily: O thank God so you didn't just quit school I may be week but I would kick your but all the way back to Seattle.Olivia is on her way she will explain everything to you when she gets here but yes she has a baby boy named Eli he is about to be 3. I mean it the Dr said she is almost all clear and is sticking to her diet and rehab. With you here, she should get happier, and the depression should go away. Elizabeth:That's good. I am glad to hear that. I am sorry that I wasn't here sooner to help y'all. I really did try to help, I promise. Gabriel:It's ok, my sweet potato, we know you. Had school, and you know your mom she would die if you gave up just for her. Elizabeth:So how have you been? How is the club going? Gabriel:I am ok, you know, trying to keep up with Max. You know he is super excited to meet you. And the club is good just been having Cam run things for a little can't trust anyone but him I had to step back a bit with your mom being sick and Kala's passing I have been focus more on family than the club. Elizabeth: I totally can't wait to meet Max. How old is he now? I am sure the guy's miss you, but they understand you lost your son's mother, and your sister was really sick. but don't worry, I am here now and can help out more, and you can get back to work. Olivie: i am not even mad. that You called me that I am just so happy you're home. I missed you so much. Elizabeth:I missed you too, so I heard you have a kid. he is 3 years old. Why have you never told me about him? girl, Olivie: you had enough to worry about with your mom, and with he who should not be named and school, why unload my drama on you too?
