Frank was woken by a stiff wind rattling the sides of his tent. He opened his eyes, pulled his heat-exchanging mask off, and sat up. Suddenly, the headache was back, and along with it came the memories of making love with Sarah the other night. He sat with them for several minutes, reliving the torrid experiences, then rolled out of his sleeping bag and dragged his boots on. It had been a long time since he had been with a woman and the thought of making love to Sarah gave him pause to think of what he was doing. He stepped outside into a chill wind under the saffron glow of an impending sunrise. The camp was quiet. Voices murmured from the tents.
