Anna adjusted herself to a more comfortable position only to realize she was on the edge of the bed, tilting toward the ground. Before she dropped on the wooden floor a hand pulled her back, wrapping tightly around her waist. She looked up at William only to find him fully awake and staring at her.
“Sorry, did I wake you?” he murmured, brushing his lips against hers.
“How long have you been up?” Anna asked, glancing at her watch. It was showing just past seven in the morning, so it was too damn early for them to be awake considering they had stayed up late last night testing the artifacts Etheera picked and discussing the new information she gave them. The goddess had grown unusually quiet after talking a little about the process of taking energy and then stopped responding altogether.
