Kate had just stepped out of the shower and pulled on a housecoat, and she was tying it closed when she heard the front door. She started down the steps and saw Walker rifling through their mail before tossing his keys on the side table.
“Kate,” he called out, shouted actually, as she strode down. He still hadn’t looked up. It was this bossy side of him that she loved so much. He was a man who walked in and demanded, but his alpha side had taken a backseat for the past few days. She was glad it was back, but she realized it would be best if she didn’t tell him that.
