Chapter 27 Kate had just stepped out of the shower and pulled on a housecoat, and she was tying it closed when she heard the front door. She started down the steps and saw Walker rifling through their mail before tossing his keys on the side table. “Kate,” he called out, shouted actually, as she strode down. He still hadn’t looked up.
