Walker didn’t hesitate to pay the few bucks it cost to buy two hotdogs from the vendor just up the street from the precinct. He didn’t have a lot of time, but it seemed to Walker like Kate’s dad knew he needed someone to talk to. Not that he ever talked or shared, but the man was probably the only one who could understand his predicament.
“So your boss wants you to let this woman walk away scot free, and you’re supposed to just ignore everything she tried to do to you, to my daughter?” Jeff took the hotdog Walker handed him and took a huge bite, chewing and thinking.
It shouldn’t have been such a huge decision, but it was, because the possibility of seeing hurt on Kate’s face and knowing he was responsible for putting it there wasn’t sitting too well with Walker.
