Chapter 13 Walker was just finishing at the scene of a robbery at a pharmacy. Two guys wearing masks had stolen only pharmaceuticals, enough in pain killers to net a street value of a hundred grand. “So crime techs found a surveillance video,” Kruso said. “They’re going over it now. One of the guys pulled off his mask just outside the door, and his image in the window reflected back from the streetlights outside.” Walker glanced to Kruso, nodding. They’d done all they could tonight, and statements and reports would be typed up. Once they had an ID on the suspects, they’d pick them up. “How did it go with Kate?” she asked, and he wished she hadn’t, because he wanted to go home to Kate and make sure she was okay.
