It was three a.m., and Kate was still awake.
Walker had left about three hours before after insisting on ordering pizza, meat lover’s with extra cheese. She’d had two pieces, and he’d even popped down to the corner to grab a six pack of beer. She’d gladly had one, and although she wasn’t a beer drinker, she’d found it went nicely with the greasy, heavy pizza, which only added to the burning in her stomach from the ice cream. That was probably why she now felt a hefty twenty pounds heavier. She’d moped about it and hadn’t much felt like having s*x with Walker, not that he’d pushed. That was something Walker would never do. Really, having s*x and sharing any part of herself in an intimate way was just something she couldn’t do right now.
