Bella was looking at her reflection in the mirror. The white-laced off-shouldered wedding dress hugged her curves very well. She looked like a million bucks. A knock was heard on the door.
"Oh! You are ready!" her aunt asked. She is not a little thrilled about how she looks. All she said was-
"Now, be good girl, walk down that isle, marry that rich man."
'But, aunt, he made himself clear, didn't he? He is doing this because he wants an heir. But I am not-"
"HUSH!" She put a finger on her lips and said,"We are in debt, he is letting us go, also paying us, and he is even helping us to restart the company."
"But what about me? That man doesn't even know what I look like."
"What about you?" Aunt Lana asked," Consider yourself lucky! An imbecile like you never deserved to marry someone that wealthy!"
"Money is not everything, aunt."
Aunt Lana laughed and said,"Oh you foolish child! You can't run from this."She grabs her arm and forces her to sit in front of the mirror. Lana took the diamond necklace and while putting it on her, she said," If you create a scene right now. You won't find the consequent fun." Saying so, she leaves.
Bella looked back at the mirror, a smirk on her face as she put down the necklace. "You have no idea about the scene I am going to create, aunt. It's now or never."
At that time, Lana and Carter's daughter Leen enters the room. "Bella, we have to switch now. Come on, I'll help you."
"Are you sure, Leen, think about it?"
"There is nothing to think, sis! Freedom is yours now. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be alive. I owe you now the end of discussion."
They switch places. Bella wore something casual while Leen wore her wedding dress, put on the veil. These two have so much in common; their height, figure, no one will ever tell a difference.
Bella successfully avoided all the guests and family members and earned her freedom.
On the other hand, Leen walked down the isle. When she was about to get on the stage, Lana looked at the bride carefully when she knew it wasn't Bella.
"STOP!" Lana yeld.
"What happened?" Mr Dalton got all angry.
"She is not the bride. She is my daughter, Leen," Lana said.
All the guests gasped.
"Wasn't it supposed to be YOUR daughter? Carter?"
"Y-Yes, Sir, but my other daughter."
"No, Mr Dalton," finally Leen spoke.,"I am their only daughter. If you don't believe me, ask my relatives."
Someone among the guests said,"Carter, Lana, we thought it was Bella's wedding."
"But the groom says he intends to marry your daughter. We don't understand."
'Yeah, is it Bella's wedding or Leen's?"
"It's my wedding!" Leen replied.
"Leen, my child! No, your life will be ruined if you marry him!" Out of emotion, Lana spilled out something she shouldn't.
"So for Bella," Leen shouted back, " Mr. Dalton, I don't know what lie, my parents have told you, but I am the daughter they have."
Dalton put a finger under her chin and lifted it to ask her,"So, my dear, bride, tell me, does all the inheritance belong to you?"
"No!"
"Then I don't need you."
Carter and Leen sighed out of relief.
"But you will be in my custody until they find the birdie!! I am taking this one as advance payment. FIND THE REAL ONE, BRING HER TO ME!! Or else you know Carter."
........
Bella didn't waste a single second after she escaped. She took shelter in a bar's basement while she changed her identity. Soon she found a way to leave the country. But each time she was chased by Dalton's goons. They would find a way and trace her. Romania, Greece, France, Italy. Then she thought she couldn't be on the same continent as him. So he set off for the States.
Present Day...
It's been a year now. Bella didn't want to look back. She was right about the whole continent concept. Since she moved to the states, no one chased her. For now, she is trying to fulfill her dream. She is studying law at the University Of Missouri, so that she can save people in distress. It's a very gloomy rainy day. She was in her car, returning from college and the cars infront of her didn't even move for ten minutes. The light turned green, as she was about to hit the gas, a series of shootings were heard. Before she could calculate what was going on, a man bathed in blood was trying to open her car's door.
She thought this man might need help, so she unlocked the car and told him to hop in. She looked at the man through the viewer mirror. His icy-blue eyes were in pain. But he still has that bad boy look and a mischievous smile.
"Just drive, sweetheart, hope you can drive us out alive from this."
'Uh-oh! What have I gotten myself into?' she thought to herself.
