The Luna's Sweet Revenge.

Laura Meets The Ranked Wolves.

Laura's POV.

As soon as I finished preparing, I put on some formal clothes and headed for the council hall. I loved the fact that this important meeting venue is located in the Alpha's palace where the top management of the Pack could meet at any time, away from the prying eyes of the hundreds of Wolves in the Black Hawk Pack. I was excited as it would be my first time to attend a meeting there.

It was surely walking distance and within a few minutes, I had arrived the place. As soon as I entered I headed straight to the office of the Alpha, walking past my own office in the process. Courtesy demands that I should at least see and chat with the Alpha before entering into my office to do whatever I want to do there before the meeting would eventually start.

So I opened the door and entered, Alpha Daniel was poring over some files. Though he appeared busy, he raised his head up to acknowledge my presence as soon as I came in.

"Welcome Luna Laura," he said. "I guess you want to just see me at work before going into your own office?"

I nodded my head. "Yes, Daniel. Courtesy demands I stopped over to see you before entering my own office."

He smiled. "I'm glad you see it that way. Some others would not even bother," he said.

"Alright," I said.

He looked at his watch. "It's 9:00 AM. The meeting would be held right here in my office since we aren't many. You may now go to your office and come back when it's exactly 10."

"Okay, Alpha, I can't wait to have a feel of my office," I said, opening his door and going out into the hall.

After a few steps, I was at the door. I opened my door and went in.

I could see signs it had already been cleaned just like the Alpha said earlier.

I took a quick look around, used my right hand to have a feeling of the shiny wall for a moment and then took a deep breath to take in the environment.

Then I went ahead to seat on my chair, closed my eyes briefly and pondered for a few minutes.

'Luna Laura, you're welcome to a new phase of your life' I said to myself as I opened the drawers to see what was in them as I drew one of the files on the table close to me to go through and learn about the pack and it's activities.

I read the contents, then took another and kept wanting to know more.

I continued to read file after file until I heard some footsteps outside my door. Almost immediately, the door opened and Alpha Daniel came in.

He blinked and smiled. "Wow, I can see you've done quite a lot of work on your first day at work at your.council hall office, am I correct, Luna?"

"I nodded and blinked. "Yes, Alpha, I've covered quite a lot in less than an hour."

We both burst out laughing, almost at the same time.

Soon, we started to.hear footsteps in the hall. It was evident the.ranking wolves had started to arrive.

We heard a knock on the door and.a.head peered in. It was Brian, the Beta of the pack.

He came in and bowed to greet both the Alpha and me.

"Brian, you're welcome," said Alpha Daniel, giving him a thumbs up. "You came in earlier than others. Quite commendable."

"Thanks, Alpha," he said, smiling.

It was my turn to acknowledge his greetings.

"You are very welcome, Beta Brian," I said.

"Thanks, Luna Laura," he replied.

Looking from me to the Beta, Alpha Daniel asked, "Can we now go to my office and wait for the others to arrive? They would.all be here in a very short time."

We nodded in perfect agreement.

Alpha Daniel led the way as we all filled out of my office and headed to his.

As soon as we took.our seats, others started arriving. Next to arrive was.the Gamma, Gabriel Monroe. A few minutes later, the Beta Female, wife of the Beta, Linda Brian also arrived.

A few minutes later, the local healer, Karen Williams and the Pack doctor Micheal Griffith arrived.

All was now.set for the start of the meeting as everyone expected had.arrived.

The time was now exactly 10 o'clock.

Alpha Daniel stood up, surveyed the entire room and adjusted his tie. Then he cleared his throat and began.to speak.

"I wish to welcome you all to this gathering. As you may be aware, our Luna, Laura Taylor has recently arrived with six of her associates from the Golden Emerald Pack. So we have seven wolves added to our numbers."

There was a round of applause when he made the last sentence and everyone present looked at me with a sign of gratitude on their faces.

I found myself struggling with my thoughts, trying to find out why they were looking so grateful when the Alpha mentioned that I came.with six new members to their Pack.

The answer came to me in a flash. I suddenly remembered the 'chestbeating' episode between me and Alpha Daniel. The truth is that members of this Pack love to receive new members.

Even though most Werewolf Packs throw their doors wide open to let in new members, I think the love of these ones for new members is something out of the usual. That probably explains why they clapped and looked at me with gratitude when the Alpha mentioned it.

Alpha Daniel continued. "As you all.know, we need to organize a welcome meeting/party at the Pack house where we would formally introduce her to the general community of werewolves. You know it is our usual tradition here. But I and the Luna reasoned that she should first be introduced to the management of the pack before we introduce her to all other wolves."

Everyone present nodded their heads in total agreement to the.proposal.

"So we are here to do exactly that. For her six associates, you will get to know them later, when they are all introduced together to our Pack members."

"So, let's get it started, okay? I have the singular honor to introduce to you our new Luna, Laura Taylor who has just joined us from the Golden Emerald Pack. Could you please stand up for proper recognition, Laura?"

I stood up on my feet, smiled.broadly.and.waved my hands. "I'm happy to be here among you. I love everyone of you."

Then I sat down to the applause of everyone present.

The Alpha continued. "Now I'll go ahead and introduce each of you to the Luna, starting from the Beta. But first, you'll introduce yourselves one by one, then I will add one or two things to what you said about yourself, if necessary. So, over to you, Beta Brian."

Beta Brian stood up from his seat. He took a quick glance round the room and cleared his throat. "My naname is Brian Daley, the Beta of the Pack. I've been assiting the Alpha of this Pack for quite a number of years now. I don't think I have any more to say about myself for now. Thanks."

Alpha Daniel smiled and nodded. "Yes, I just have to add a little to what the Beta has just said about himself. Beta Brian is a very dependable associate of mine. He has been a valued member of this Pack for about four years now. He is very diligent in any assignments I give him. This reminds me of the last tasks I gave you to get accommodation for the six wolves that came with the Luna. Do you have any reports for us?"

Beta Brian cleared his throat. "With all due respect, I have carried out the assignment to the letter, sir. All the six of them have been comfortably accommodated. All of them got a 2 bedroom apartment each."

Alpha Daniel nodded his head. "Very good, Beta Brian. As soon as I gave you the job, I considered the job already done, that's why I didn't even bother to ask you for feedback."

Alpha Daniel than turned to look at me. "So, this is the Beta. I hope you'll both have a good working relationship for the benefit of the pack."

I nodded my head.

Next to be introduced was the Beta Female, Mrs Linda Brian. She was asked by the Alpha to stand up and introduce herself. "My name is Linda Brian. I'm the Beta Female of the Black Hawk Pack of Werewolves. By the way, I'm the wife of the Beta, Brian Daley."

The office erupted in applause at her simple but straight introductory words.

Alpha Daniel nodded after she had taken her seat. "She is also as hardworking as her husband. There is something she didn't tell us and I would tell you. She has been acting as the Luna of the Pack since when we didn't have a Luna. That in effect means she has been performing the duties of the Luna for many years now."

There was another round of applause for her at the Alpha's revelation.

I turned my face to look at her after the applause died down. A strange thought came into my heart when the Alpha said she had been performing my duties in my absence.

I quite understand as a Luna in my former Pack that the Alpha delegates a lot of work to their Luna. But could she be performing other duties apart from those? could she be sleeping with the Alpha while I was not yet around here? Alpha Daniel confirmed that he kept himself busy with a woman in my absence but did not name her. Could she be the person he was referring to? These thoughts flooded my mind as Daniel called on the Gamma to introduce himself.

Before the Gamma could start speaking, my Wolf, Karen, spoke. "It's not what you are thinking, Laura. She is not the one Alpha Daniel talked about, though the person is also a member of this Pack. You would know her in due course."

With these words from my Wolf, I regained my peace and once more concentrated on the proceedings.

The Gamma of the Pack, Gabriel Monroe was the next to introduce himself and he did that as briefly as possible as I nodded my head at having to know him. The Alpha also had some good things to say about him as usual.

Looking from me to the Gamma, Alpha Daniel said, "Gamma Gabriel, I and the Luna would need you very soon. There is something very important we would discuss and plan with you in relation to the warriors under your command. For now, i want the Luna to fully settle down, when it's time I would call you and let you know the details, okay?"

The Gamma nodded his head. "We are always at your service, sir."

It is quite thoughtful of Daniel to have me always in mind. My revenge plans are very important and I'm very delighted that he still has it in mind to the extent of putting the Gamma and his warriors on notice for the special assingment they would carry out. I'm very impressed with my Alpha mate for this show of love.

The meeting continued with the Pack doctor, Michael Griffith, being told by the Alpha to introduce himself. He did say he is the resident doctor of the pack hospital located right inside the Pack community.

I nodded my head and I was very pleased with his simplicity and the way he carried himself despite his level of education. I immediately craved a good working relationship with him.

The last ranking wolf to be introduced to me was the local healer of the pack, Karen Williams. She introduced herself and I quite admired her personality and devotion to duty going by what the Alpha said about her.

About thirty minutes after the end of introduction's, Alpha Daniel declared the meeting closed and everyone departed.
