Henrietta shut the door of her chamber with a loud thud, feeling frustrated about what had happened today. His arrogant words kept ringing in her head. "Who does he think he is?" she snapped to the empty room. Her cloak slid from her shoulders and hit the floor, forgotten. She paced one. Twice. Then stopped, fingers curling at her sides as heat flared her skin. Not a shift. Not yet. But close enough to make her teeth grit. Liability. The word was etched in her mind. She dragged a hand through her hair, the disguise spell already unraveling.
