Chapter 10

Because Roxy ended her telepath with Erika abruptly, Erika thought that Roxy might be in danger. Erika left immediately towards Roxy's and while doing so telepathically told elder Zelda what she was doing. Elder Zelda told Erika to go ahead and report back when she's done checking on Roxy. Unknown to Roxy that Erika was coming to check on her she went through her day normally. That afternoon when Roxy went out to the store, she got hugged from Erika. "What are you doing here?" "I was worried something happened to you when we were chatting and then without notice stopped." "Ah. Danny returned and I abruptly stopped, sorry for worrying you." "As long as you're ok." "Well since you're here come to dinner." "What about Danny, you haven't told him have you?" "No I haven't told him who I am." "Then why invite me over when you haven't told him? Unless you're going to tonight." "I'm not telling him just yet. We'll tell him we met here at the store, just started talking, and I invited you over for dinner. If he asks why you're here (above) tell him your clan is exploring our world." "Good plan." "Come on then." Erika and Roxy were chatting all the way back to Roxy's house. "Come in, make yourself at home." "Thanks." Danny came from the kitchen to help Roxy with groceries when he saw Erika and her necklace... "This is?" "This is Erika I met her at the store, she's very nice to talk to." "Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you as well." Roxy left with the few grocery bags which gave Danny and Erika time to chat. Like Roxy thought Danny did asked Erika why she was there, and sticking to Roxy's plan Erika told Danny that her clan was exploring the human world, which Danny bought. That afternoon was full of lively happy chatter; even at dinner it was wonderful conversation. It did get a little weird only once when Roxy asked Erika and Danny why they had the same necklace. Danny replied fast by saying that they're family wears them, that Erika is his cousin. Roxy only nodded and changed the conversation topic. As it was getting dark out Erika stood and said "I'll be leaving now." "It's late why don't you stay here for the night?" "No, it's ok. I'm going home; see you around." "If you're sure." "I am, good bye Roxy, it was also nice meeting you." "You too Erika, it was also nice meeting you." "I'll walk with her a bit, you go to bed and get ready for work tomorrow" said Danny. "Alright; be safe you guys." Both Erika and Danny nodded their heads, Erika even waved a good bye knowing they'll see each other again. By the time Danny and Erika reached the cliff they looked and seemed like friends. Before Erika went down the trail to get to the mouth of the cave which opens to the ocean Danny said "good luck to you and your clan." "Thanks... As for Roxy tell her how you feel." "What are you talking about?" "You like her, I saw how you were looking at her." "I-No. No I don't like her. I just think she's an interesting human like every other human here." "If you say so' good bye Danny." Danny only nodded as Erika went down the trail. While Erika was swimming back home towards her clan, Roxy and her telepathically chatted for like a minute. Both was happy to know or think Danny bought their acting. As for Danny he sensed a mermaid near the cave opening, so he walked down the trail to see who it was. Once Danny got to the opening of the cave a merman burst out of the ocean. Danny took his necklace off transforming into a merman. "Tyler what are you doing here?" "I wanted to see how your friend liked that flowered thing?." "She liked it a lot." "When do you think you'll find that Roxy who is supposed to marry you?" "I don't know. If I find her and she agrees about this crazy idea that'll be crazy." "What if she disagrees and wants to marry you?" "I thought of finding a way to scare her away somehow." "You could threaten to kill her." Danny didn't know how to answer that but was considering the thought even before Tyler said it. "I got to go, it's dark out and Roxy would be worried if I show up very late." "Wish I could come with you to meet this new friend of yours." "Another day." "Okay. I'll come visit once in a while to see how your hunt going." "Be careful when you do, you don't want to be seen by a human while you're a merman." "If a human sees me I'll be sure they won't speak or see me again." "Killing a human is a little drastic. Just bring a spell caster find that human and-" "Humans can tell others about our kind if not taken care of right away." "I guess... well see ya around, be careful getting back to the clan." "You too." After arriving back at Roxy's house Roxy asked if Erika got home safely. "Yeah she'll get home safely." "She'll?" "She's on um.." "A plane." "Yeah, she's on a plane. Well I'm going to bed, you should to." "Right; good night." "Good night."
