Finally, His

Sebastian Wolfe was getting married. He always known that he would get married, but he had expected a marriage of convenience, not one born of love and friendship. He and Mila had dated for a few of months, been engaged for some time and now, they were getting married. He had to admit – he was a little nervous. His heart was pounding. He was wearing a custom made suit, his hair was styled to perfection. He was wearing his rings, the rings beared his family's crest. “Knock Knock.” He heard and glanced at the door to see his sister, Belle walk in, their Mother following behind. “Make some noise for the groom to be!!” Belle hollered dramatically. Sebastian could not help himself, he smiled. “Okay, that's enough, Belle. Thank you for your excitement.” He chuckled and she giggled. “You're getting married, Sebastian! I never thought this day would come. I am so excited. I can't wait to eat all the cakes here before I have to go back to New York.” She gestured as she spoke. Belle Wolfe was Sebastian's little sister and only sibling. There was a fifteen year age gap between them, Sebastian was thirty five and Belle was twenty, a freshman at NYU. “Returning to New York will be good for you. A new semester will begin and you will flourish.” Sebastian told her, he knew that she would be fine. Belle was extraordinary, she was excellent and intelligent. She would take NYU by storm. Sebastian glanced at his mother who had an impassive expression on her face. Charlotte Wolfe had never liked Mila. He could not understand why his mom did not like Mila. He stopped asking months ago. “Have you seen Mila?” His mom finally spoke and he shook his head “Not yet. I'll be waiting for her.” “She will walk down the aisle alone. None of her family and friends are here. Do you not find that a bit strange?” Charlotte narrowed her gaze at her son, who sighed “Mom, let's not do this. I am marrying her.” “I know. I have something for you.” She reached into her elegant purse and pulled out cufflinks. Sebastian froze because he knew those cufflinks. They belonged to his father. “I am sorry your father is not here today. He would have loved to watch you get married, but Fate is cruel and he was taken from us.” His mo whispered softly and he nodded “Thank you, Mom.” ___ He stood there, waiting, for her, waiting for Mila. Elias, his childhood best friend was behind him, as his best man. Ivy, his friend, was across from him, as Mila's maid of honor. The doors opened, everyone stood up, a slow tune started playing and he watched as she walked through. Sebastian thought he was going to have a heart attack. He never knew his heart could beat this fast. It was not beating fast, that was an understatement, his heart was thundering in the cage, thrashing. Mila Calloway was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life. He could not understand her beauty, he did not deserve her at all. She looked ethereal in her dress and veil. The veil was long, just like she wanted. “Hi.” He rasped when she stood in front of him. She smiled, but said nothing. It was odd, Mila always talked his ears off, but she was probably just nervous. The wedding began in earnest. Sebastian gaze was on her, he could not take his eyes off her, she was beautiful, so beautiful in a way that he could not understand. Something was . . . off. Was it? It was time for vows and he stuttered. “You are my best friend, Mila. You are everything to me. You know me, you see me, you are my favorite person and I am glad to be getting married to you. I've waited all my life for a bond like ours and you have blessed me in more ways than one. You will be my wife and I will be yours. I will never be unfaithful to you. You are my begining and my end.” He spoke from the deepest part of him. Words could not capture all he felt for her. He looked at her and for a second, he froze. In Mila's eyes, he could see fury and flames – Fire. He blinked and it was gone. He could not understand what just happened. “I - I Mi – Mila Calloway, promise to love you for the rest of my life. I am glad that the universe put you in my path. I love you, Sebastian and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.” She whispered. Elias handed him her ring and Ivy handed her his. Sebastian carefully slid the stunning and expensive ring around her finger. He felt a shiver down his spine when she slid the ring around his finger. “You may kiss the bride.” He heard. Carefully, he cupped her jaw, he felt her tremble and he looked in her eyes. He frowned, because her eyes were hazel. Hadn't they been brown before? She kissed him, rendering all his thoughts moot. He kissed her back softly, obsessed with her taste. ___ She had changed out of her dress, into a two piece set. She looked like a Queen, she was my Queen now. She was Mila Wolfe, his wife, his Queen. She would never leave him, he would make sure of that. “No dancing with your wife?” Elias asked, sitting beside him and Sebastian shrugged “I'm comfortable watching her from here. She looks extraordinary. Gorgeous.” He glanced at her, then at his friend and he whispered “I feel like I stole someone's fate. I think I did. I don't care though. Mila is mine. She's my heaven and no one gives up their spot in heaven.” “There is something about her though, I don't know what it is, but there's something different about her, like she is someone else.” Elias said slowly. Sebastian looked at her. And, wondered if Eli was right.
