Rosie!!!” Jay exclaimed in shock. A light-skinned, Avery couldn’t understand what was going on. Who’s this girl? Where’s from, and what’s she doing here?
Why did she plant a kiss on his lips?
Avery turned slowly to Jay with her crystal blue dove eyes asking him to explain what was going on.
Jay shook Rosie in a flash with disappointment written all over her face.
“Darling, aren’t you happy to see me?” She asked
Darling? Avery stood there speechless.
I came down to New York City for our marriage, but it seems someone is not happy with that”, she taunted.
“What in God’s name are you talking about?!” Jay asked angrily.
“This might be the girl his parents want him to marry, “ Avery thought to herself. Her day has already been dramatic and here comes another drama.
“You came to New York to get married to me? I never told nor sent any message across to you that I need a wife!” he quickly snapped back.
Avery could feel the hot stares of Rosie devouring her body.
“I see,” Rosie said as she walked closer to Avery.
“You left me because of this useless, stinky, low-class girl?” She demanded.
“Mind your choice of words, Rosie, it is my wife we are talking about. I won't have you disrespect her” He warned and pulled Avery away from the scene.
“This bastard!”
Avery sat on the bed without uttering a word. Jay noticed her discomfort and leaned closer to her, pulling her close enough that she could sense the Cologne he was wearing. She could feel her heartbeat as Jay rested her head on his athletic yet comfy chest. He continued to stroke his fingers through her long curly hair. The atmosphere was peaceful with neither of them wanting to ruin their beautiful moment.
That night, Avery went to sleep in Jay’s arms. The feeling was something she had never felt before. The feeling was one that she never thought she would experience. A sensational feeling swept under her feet.
The night quickly faded giving in to daylight. Avery woke up to the sounds of the birds chirping.
She opened her eyes only to see Jay staring deep into her soul. She immediately shut them close..
“Avery, we need to talk,” he said with a soft but firm voice.
She slowly opened her eyes. Jay looked at her and smiled, before patting her on the head.
“Avery, there is so much about my past with Rosie that you don't know. I broke up with her two years ago. I had no communication with her. I don't know which part of the universe she evaporated from to make her come back here again.” he explained softly.
“ Why are you telling me this?” Avery asked.
“Because you are my wife, and you deserve to know. And please always be careful around her. I know Rosie very well and how heartless she can be. Just promise me you'll stay out of her path and also be the first person you call in an emergency.”
She looks at the man sitting right in front of her. Her mom’s lifesaver and the man she got to consider a husband.
