I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off on my phone. I got up and started getting dressed in my uniform then did my morning routine. I grabbed my backpack and went down to the common room to see Bakugo already there eating breakfast. I waved hi and was about to walk out the door until I heard my name being called. “Kii, you need to eat something. Grab a bowl and sit down.” Bakugo said. I let out a small huff and turned to do so because I knew he would make me eat something somehow.
I grabbed a bowl of cereal and sat down next to Bakugo. We conversed about random things for a few minutes until others started to come down. After I washed both of our dishes, I picked my bag up again and walked to the door again. “Hey Aki, hold the door a minute.” I heard from behind me. I turned around to see Denki running to catch up with Shinso behind him. I held the door open until they both were outside with me. Once they were I let the door close and started walking with them to class.
“Um, don’t you always come into class late?” Shinso asked Kaminari. “Um, yeah but maybe I should change that. I can always get better at it if you walk with me.” he replied with a sly smirk. You saw the smallest hint of a blush creep on Shinso’s face before he turned his head forward and hurried to class. I giggled with Denki at his reaction. “I think you two would look good together.” I said to Denki. That made him stop and ask, “Really?” I nodded my head and continued walking. “I am Bi.” I heard from behind me. I turned to him with a smile on my face and said, “I’m Lesbian.” He smiled and we continued walking to class talking about different stuff that we like.
When we reached the classroom, we were the first ones there besides Shinso who got there first. I sat down in my seat and thought about what we were going to do today. I think we have math this morning. I looked at the clock and we had 5 minutes until class started. The door opened and people started pouring in. Everyone looked at Denki as soon as they walked in with a confused expression, but he didn’t notice it because he was busy talking to Shinso who was trying to get his work in order.
When Bakugo walked in, he was followed by who I assume is his group of friends. There was a guy with red spiky hair, a girl with pink skin and horns, and Sero behind him. They all put their stuff down at their desk and crowded around Bakugo’s which was in front of me. While they were talking, I got my work out from my bag and tried to organize it.
When Mr. Aizawa walked in, everyone that was talking shut up and waited for him to tell us what we were going to do today. Once he got to the front of the class, he started speaking.
Turns out I was right. We had math class today. Honestly, the class was kinda easy. I was always good with math, but I guess others weren’t. Some people would get a number so far from the answer, I wondered how they could possibly come to that conclusion. I didn’t say anything the whole class period and I didn’t get called on for any questions either.
When it was over and we went to our next class, the ‘Bakusquad’ and ‘Dekusquad’ walked beside me. Shinso tagged along to, but he tried to stay behind everyone else. I was about to talk to him when a guy with red spiky hair came up to me and started talking. “Hey, I’m Eijiro Kirishima! I realized that I didn’t exactly introduce myself and that’s a bit unmanly of me. Nice to meet you.”
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting him to talk to me, so it took a moment before I responded. “Oh, um, i-it’s okay, I think. I am Kiiarda Akiyama, nice to m-meet you to.” We shook hands and then a pink skinned girl spoke up. “Hey, I’m Mina Ashido but you can call me Mina!” She was really energetic and looked like she was always smiling.
I waved my hand, and she started talking about some new show that she was watching. She just kept saying AOT, but I had no idea what she was talking about. I tried to look at Bakugo or Izuku to help me out, but they were busy talking to other people. Well, Izu was, Firework kept yelling at random people to move out of the way. I had a small smile on my face. Today was Tuesday, so I had three more days until I had to go back home. I wish I could stay at the dorms, but the only way my parents would let me go to UA, was for me to come home on the weekends. I didn’t like it, but it gave me a little bit of an escape. For now, that’s enough.
*A Couple Hours later*
School had finally ended, and everyone was walking to the dorms. I had a little homework to do but it shouldn’t be hard. I knew I was dragging a bit behind the others, but I didn’t think they would mind. I usually kept to myself anyway, especially when I am at the house. I know that people are going to drop their friendly acts soon enough. They will start to treat me like my parents do.
I guess I was really lost in my thoughts because I ended up bumping into someone. I kept my head down and started apologizing. “I am so, so, so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going, and I was spacing out. I am so sorry.” “Hey, it’s okay. There is no need to apologize. I wasn’t looking either. I’m Hawks, what’s your name?” A bit of a deeper voice said.
I looked up to see that I had bumped into a man with golden blonde hair and honey-colored eyes. What stuck out the most though, were the crimson wings protruding out of his back. “I am Kiiarda Akiyama. I am sorry again for bumping into you.” I said and apologized again. He gave me a smile and said, “I told you it was okay. Anyway, I don’t think I have seen you around here before. Are you new here?” “Um, yes sir. I just got here yesterday actually.” I told him. “Oh really? Well, congrats on getting in mid-year, that’s kinda hard to do. And please, call me Hawks. I guess I will see you later future hero. Good luck!” he said and started to walk off. “Bye.” I called after him and continued my walk to my dorm.
I made sure to watch where I was going so I didn’t bump into anyone else. Once I got to my dorm, I walked in and decided to get my homework done and out of the way. I hope they don’t give us any homework on the weekends because I know it won’t be completed. I have too much s**t going on with my parents and I don‘t think they will go easy on me just because I go to UA now. It didn’t stop them before so why would it make a difference now?
I got my homework and started going through it one subject at a time. I did math first because it was the easiest thing there. Then I did History, followed by science, then I did English because that is the hardest thing for me to do. Once that was done, I realized that is was about 5:30. I guess I was pretty busy. Just then I heard a rapid knocking on my door.
I wasn’t really expecting anybody, so I hesitantly went to open the door. When I did, I was surprised to see that Denki was there. “Hey Denki, what’s up?” “I need your help with something. Do you have time after dinner to talk? Also, Bakugo said that if you don’t come down for dinner, he will come up here and carry you down there himself.” He said. “Okay, then let’s go before he gets mad and yes, I have time after dinner. I already finished my homework so it shouldn’t be a problem.” I told him.
“Okay, thank you. Also, no one in the class knows about my sexuality, so I was thinking of telling everyone at dinner. I have been wanting to for a while and I think it would be a good idea to tell them now. I mean, I know that there is a possibility that some won’t accept it, but I think that it shouldn’t matter what they think anymore. What do you think?”
“I think it is a wonderful idea. I support you, heck I am Lesbian as I already told you, and I will try to talk some sense into people who say something to you. I know that you have people that care for you no matter what, and they will probably deal with them if they say the wrong thing. Don’t worry about it and just say it when the time is right.” I gave him my honest opinion.
He gave me a small smile before he started talking about a new game he got the other day. I knew he was doing it to ease his mind, so I let him ramble while I listened to him talk. We got to the common room and headed to the dining table where I saw Midoriya setting the table. When me and Denki entered, he looked up and waved at us.
I walked into the kitchen to see that Bakugo was cooking dinner tonight. He turned around at the sound of footsteps, and gave me a small smile and asked me, “Where the f**k did you go after class?” before he turned back around to focus on cooking. “On the way back here, I bumped into someone because I wasn’t looking where I was going. When I actually got back to the dorms, I stayed in my room and completed my homework. Then Denki came and got me for dinner.” He just nodded and then turned the stove off.
Me and Denki set the table and then took our seats. I sat next to Bakugo like yesterday, but this time, Denki sat next to me and everyone else sat down. I didn’t think anything of it until I remembered the conversation we had earlier. I gave him a small smile and waited as Bakugo started passing out the food.
A few minutes after everyone started eating, I noticed that Denki wouldn’t stop bouncing his leg. I looked over at him to see that he looked really nervous. I guess he felt me looking at him because he turned his head to look at me. I tried to give him the best encouraging smile I could and nodded my head. He nodded back, took a deep breath, then stood up.
This caught everyone’s attention, so they all stopped talking and looked at him. He cleared his throat and began with, “Umm, I have something I would like to say.” I could hear the nervousness in his voice. “Sure, what is it dude?” Sero said. I could tell that Sero knew it was serious because he gave Kaminari his full attention. Kaminari took a deep breath and said, “I, uh, I am Bisexual.”
I was thinking that some people were going to yell but no one did. The girl with black hair in a ponytail, who I have come to learn is Momo, stood up and said, “I support you Kaminari. I will take this as a sign to come out as well. I am Lesbian.” With a smile on her face. The next person to stand up was the guy with purple balls for hair. “I would like to say that I support you both. I actually, uh, am Trans, female to male, and I am Gay. I have a boyfriend that I have been dating for two years. I also want to apologize to every girl in here for my past actions. I am sorry and I hope that you can at least forgive me.” He said. “We support you Mineta, and I forgive you. I think we should all just say our sexuality, but I guess we are already doing that. I am an Ally though, so no need to worry.” Mina said as she stood up.
All the girls nodded their head saying that they forgave him as long as he didn’t do it anymore, which he promised he wouldn’t. So far four out of twenty-two people at the table have said something including Denki. The next person to stand up caught us a little bit by surprise. Bakugo said, “Gay bitches.” We all smiled at him then, Ida stood up and said, “I am Gay as well and I will support you all to the best of my abilities.” “I am Pansexual.” The guy with six arms said as he stood up. The guy with a bird head stood up next and said, “I am Gay.” “I am Gay.” Shinso said. A guy with animals surrounding him said, “I am Gay as well.“ “I am Bisexual.” A girl with ear-jacks said. Then Sero stood up and said, “I am gay.” “I am Pansexual.” Uraraka said. I then stood up and said, “I am lesbian.” With a small smile on my face. Then Aoyama stood up and said, “I have never been straight in my life.” That earned a few giggles from everyone then Todoroki stood up and said, “I am Bisexual.” “I am an Ally.” A guy with a tail said. “I am an Ally and I think this is a manly thing for all of us to do.” Kirishima said. A girl with characteristics of a frog said, “I am Lesbian kero.” “I am Bisexual.” Midoriya said. I noticed that what looked like floating cloths stood up and said, “I am an Ally as well.” Then the last guy to say anything stood up.
He was standing next to the guy with animals surrounding him. He looked at the guy, who gave him a small nod with a little bit of blush on his cheeks. “I am Pansexual. I would also like to announce that me and Kouda are together and have been for two months.” The guy said with a smile on his face as he grabbed Kouda’s hand. “Congratulations Sato! You two look cute together! I knew there was something going on!” Mina said.
I felt a bit of relief that everyone didn’t have a problem. With all of that out of the way, everyone started to finish the food and started conversing again. Some started to ask Mineta who he was dating and why he acted the way he did. Others started to talk about how their days were.
Once dinner was done, we all cleaned the kitchen and put the dishes away. “Hey Midoriya, aren’t we going to be doing internships again soon?” The guy with a tail asked. Izuku looked up and said, “Oh yeah. I actually forgot about that Ojiro. Mr. Aizawa said that we were going to start internships again next week. This time though, he said that who we get partnered up with, will be chosen differently. Like instead of filling out an application, he said something about a draw. So really anyone could be partnered up with any Hero.”
Then everyone started talking about who might get who and how it might actually work. ‘If we are doing internships, does that mean that I will be collaborating with a hero?’ I thought to myself. That means that I will need to be careful around yet another person. I can’t dwell on this now. I still have to survive this weekend at the house.
With dinner over and the kitchen cleaned, everyone started to head to bed. I took the stairs and went to my room. As I stepped in, I looked around my room again. I honestly loved what they did with it. I let my wings back out and stretched them. They are still really sore but that is to be expected. I grabbed some pajamas and took my shower so that I could go to bed.
*Time skip*
With my shower done, I brushed my teeth and sat on the bed about to go to sleep before I remembered that Denki wanted to talk after dinner. As if on que, I heard a knock on my door. I got up, went over, and opened my door just enough to stick my head out as I put my wings away. Sure enough, it was Denki, so I opened it more and stepped to the side to let him in.
“Hey Aki. I know that I am a little late, but I wanted to take my shower first to clear my head a little bit. So, are you still able to talk now?” he asked me as he sat on my desk chair. I nodded my head and sat on my bed as I waited for him to continue. “Okay, so what I wanted to talk about is that I think I might actually like Shinso. I know that I shouldn’t since I don’t know him that well, but ever since the Sports Festival, I haven’t been able to get him out of my mind. He did amazing even though he lost against Midoriya. He is also really smart and not to mention I think that he is really hot. What do you think I should do?” there was a blush steadily creeping on his face and a smile as well.
“Well, I think that you should keep doing what you did this morning. The flirting thing. If you do that, he might get a hint and he might fall for you.” I told him. He thought a moment before he said, “Well, I actually am known for flirting with a lot of girls. I think he knows that so I don’t know if that will help.” “Well, if you are serious about Shinso, then stop flirting with other people and just focus on him. If he sees that you are only flirting with him, then he might realize that you actually like him and aren’t playing with his feelings. I don’t think you should flirt with other people if you like him.” I said. He nodded his head before he said, “You are right. No more flirting with people unless it’s Shinso. But what if he doesn’t like me? What if I end up getting rejected?”
“There is always that possibility, but what if it all works out? What if he likes you too but is too scared because he also doesn’t want to get rejected? What happens if everything falls into place? It will be okay Denki. Have a bit of faith in yourself.” I said and gave him a smile. He smiled back and said, “Thank you so much Aki. I feel a bit better now that I talked to someone about it. I will go now so that you can sleep. Thanks again and goodnight.” “Good night Denki.” I said as he walked out the door.
After he had left, I went under the covers, put my phone on charge, and faced the wall with my eyes closed as I let sleep take over me.
*The Next Morning*
The next morning, I woke up to my alarm right next to my ear. I slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes while I slowly stretched out my wings. After I was awake enough, I got out of bed and started getting dressed. After I did that, I brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, and made sure that I got my homework in order then put it in my book bag. I know that it’s due Friday, but I want to turn it in early. Now that I have my stuff in order, I put my shoes on, picked up my book bag, put my wings away, and headed out the door.
When I got to the main floor, I noticed that there were a few people here already. Bakugo was here, and so was Izuku and a few others. Denki wasn’t here yet either. Leaving them be, I walked out the door and headed to class. The campus isn’t that busy right now so I could cover quite a bit of ground without bumping into anyone or coming across trouble. I finally got to the classroom and opened the door to walk in.
I don’t think too many people go to class this early because there is only about three people in the classroom. Momo, Ojiro, and Ida were the only other ones in the classroom. They waved so I waved back and sat down in my seat. I put my bookbag on the floor next to me, then I got my homework out and went to the front desk and set it down.
As I went back to my seat, Ida called out to me, “Akiyama, what did you put on the teachers desk? If you are trying to pull some prank, I must let you know that I will not allow that.” “Oh, it was j-just the homework that was assigned to us on M-monday. I would have turned it in y-yesterday, but I forgot to bring it with me so I f-figured that I should turn it in today.” I told him.
“Oh, well then my apologies. I am used to some of my classmates pulling pranks on other classmates or the teachers.” He said. “It’s okay, it’s a g-good thing that you care about e-everyone though. Thank you.” I told him and sat down in my seat again while I waited for class to begin.
Seven minutes till class starts, and people are now starting to come in. The last person to arrive is Denki and he gets here a minute before the bell. When the bell rings, Mr. Aizawa walked in with a small stack of papers with his sleeping draped over his shoulder. When he got to his desk, he picked up the papers I put there, then set the papers he had down. He set my papers on top of his pile and turned to the class.
“Okay class, as you know last week, I have said something about starting internships again. This time we are going to do something a little different. There are 22 Pro hero’s, including myself, that have agreed to take one of you on patrols and other things. What’s going to be done differently is how we decide who gets who. This time, all twenty-two heroes’ will sign their name on a piece of paper and put it in a box. Then, each one of you will pull out a slip of paper, which will decide who you do your internship with. Any questions?” we shook our head no and waited for further instructions.
He motioned at the door and in came a lot of people, including Hawks. He saw me and gave me a big grin. I gave a small smile back and paid attention to Mr. Aizawa. He gave all the Pro Hero’s a little slip of paper and told them to put their name on it. When they got done, they put the slip of paper in a box and waited for Mr. Aizawa to continue.
“Okay, now that that’s done, I will call out your name and you will come up to grab a piece of paper. Once you have it, you will say out loud who you got. No one can change who they get and there is no trading whatsoever. Any questions before we move on?” We shook our head no, again, so Mr. Aizawa called out our names one at a time.
“Tenya Ida.” Ida walked up and put his hand into the box. A couple seconds later he pulled his hand out and unfolded the piece of paper. He read it then said, “Kamui Woods.” “Welcome aboard kid.” Mr. Woods said and shook Ida’s hand.
“Mashirao Ojiro.” Ojiro copied what Ida did and said, “Cementoss.” The person, who I guess is Cementoss, shook his hand and smiled. “Since there are so many people here, once you have the person you are interning with, you can either go to a corner in the classroom, or outside in the hall, and convers to get a better understanding about what is gonna happen.” Mr. Aizawa said. With that, Ida and Ojiro went outside with the Pro Hero’s they had teamed up with.
“Mezo Shoji.” Shoji walked up and picked a piece of paper out of the box. “Ryukyu.” Shoji said. I guess I can learn everyone’s names now. The two shook hands and went outside as well.
“Minoru Mineta.” He walked up and did the same thing. “Endeavor.” He said with a little bit of fear in his voice. I now realize that the guy surrounded in flames is who he is partnered up with. He looks scary with that scowl on his face. I feel sorry for Mineta.
“Kiiarda Akiyama.” I flinched a little when he called my name because I was expecting to go a little later. I walked up to the box and stuck my hand in. After I gripped a piece of paper, I pulled it out and unfolded it. “Hawks.” I said out loud. I looked up to see that he had a small smile on his face. I walked over to him and said, “Hi.” “Hello again. So, want to go to the corner or outside in the hallway?” he asked. “Oh, um, anywhere is fine r-really.” I said.
He seemed to think for a minute before he asked Mr. Aizawa, “Do you think we could go to the roof Aizawa?” “Sure, just don’t fall, get killed, and don’t destroy anything.” He answered and looked pointedly at Bakugo. He didn’t miss that and looked away with a scowl on his face as he made a ‘tch’ sound.
Hawks had another smile show on his face as he motioned me to follow him. “So, I was thinking that we could talk on the roof since the others will stay around the classroom. That and I like the breeze that flows on the roof. You’re not afraid of height’s right?” He said once we got a little bit away from the classroom.
“Oh no, I love them a-actually. I also like the roof b-because of the view that it offers. It’s breath-taking really.” I told him. “Okay, good, good. Now, tell me a bit about yourself. Like are you getting used to being at UA, some of your favorite things or just tell me who you are.” He told me.
I thought a moment before telling him, “Well, I like the color black, I love winter scenes, and I really love feeling the wind against my face. I love cats and dogs too. I love it here at UA and I have a few friends. Two are very dear to me and I think the others will be that way to. What about you?”
“Well, I am glad that you have friends already. I love fried chicken and can’t get enough of it. I also love feeling the wind on my face and I love it even more since I can fly. I like dogs and cats as well, but cats tend to chase me quite a bit. I actually think it’s because of my quirk. Speaking of which, what is your quirk?” he rambled.
I waited until we went out the door leading to the roof before I leaned against the railing. I took a deep breath and said, “My quirk is…..Demon-Angel and I am not really proud of it.” I let out a sigh and looked up at the blue sky. After a few moments, I hear him ask, “What exactly does your quirk do and why aren’t you proud of it?”
