Part four 4.1When he was getting off the plane at the Grantley Adams airport in Barbados, Ted tried really hard not to laugh. All of it was absolutely incredible! If anyone had told him four months ago that he would be meeting his wife for holiday in the sunny Caribbean, he would certainly find that person crazy. And here he was...! He even had a security, like some rock star.
The taxi was already waiting. A friendly, dark-skinned driver called Simon helped him put his suitcase and a bag with the shopping he did on the plane into the trunk. The silent, reserved bodyguards observed them.
‘Is it your first time in Barbados?’ Simon wanted to know. ‘Welcome to heaven on earth, man!’
The villa where Veronica and the boys were staying was near Bridgetown, twenty kilometres from the airport. T
