In the shapeshifter world, Gammas were naturally the best at tracking scents. They were called trackers, and they excelled at it. That's why they led every hunt during hunting season. If they chose to specialize as tracers, they had an advantage over everyone else. But many didn't want that path—they focused on hunting. They were the exception.
