Serah stared at the crumbling mountain morbidly as the helicopter took off. There was still no sign of Gareth but she prayed he’d be able to make it through this. The rest of the ride went on in silence as she got lost in the thoughts of what she just went through. She didn’t reveal this to Asher, but she experienced another particularly vivid dream during the time she was unconscious. It was about the vampire king and queen just like in the book she read, but this time they were in that castle in the mountains. They talked about a dark uprising of their enemies who were getting more aggressive. The king then offered a pendant to his queen. She tried focusing on that scene the entire way home if only to keep at bay her conflicting thoughts about Asher.
