Summer Break

This summer break was amazing for so many reasons! found someone who I could say those 3 words and 8 letters to, those words being 'I love you.' I smile at the memory and lean my head against the train window. "Goodbye, Kai..." I whisper to myself. I got to start from the beginning, don't I... High school has finally ended 4 years of my life finished, but I mean they were important years. I got my certificate, did great on EQAO and my OSSLT's. I didn't do badly on my report card either, I got A's and B's and one C, but that's okay. I finished my 40 hours of volunteer work the summer break of 8th grade which was awesome of me. I even got honors. I'm happy... Or am I? What is happy? It's different for everyone. I don't know if I'm happy. I feel this missing piece inside me, I just don't know what it is. I sigh staring at the starry sky, I get off the balcony floor and head downstairs. I grab a cup and brew myself some coffee. "Give me some." Mike grins and taps my shoulder making me startled and spill my coffee on my gray pj shorts. "What the hell Mike!" I softly yell. "Oops?" He smiles. "You're evil you know that," I shake my head "I'm not giving you coffee at this hour, you're 17 so you are old enough to brew your own." I snap. I sigh frustratedly and head back upstairs to change. "Sorry Miele?" Mike yells. "You don't mean that," I mumble and enter my room, I carefully close the door and lock it. I change into another top and pair of shorts. I grab a book called "Only Time Will Tell," I flop on to my bed and turn my blanket into a cave. I begin to read the book and finish it soon enough. I get out of my blanket cave and grab my stuffed animal which was a big unicorn and I named it Sprinkles. I head back into my 'cave' with Sprinkle. I snuggle my head into Sprinkle's fluffy neck and fall asleep. "Wake up Miele." My mom's voice awakens me immediately. I get out of my bed; I wish I could stay in bed forever. I, of course, have my goals for summer break. 1. STAY FOCUSED ON STUDYING. 2. Only go to parties on Fridays or the weekends. 3. No boys. 4. treat yourself for the hard work :) 6. Just realized there is no #5 7. Have fun but remember goal NUMBER 1. I go to the bathroom and freshen up. I get out of the bathroom and change into some shorts and a light pink crop tee that had the word "tropical" on it with a palm tree. I head downstairs and the smell of waffles arises in my nose. They smell delicious, "mom are those-" I get cut off by Mike "yes they are waffles, Miele." I- this kid, "stop cutting me off, Mike." I take a seat on the counter stool; my mom gives me a plate with 3 waffles. "Thanks, mom!" I smile and start eating the delicious honey waffles, "your welcome honey and happy birthday!" My mom returns the smile. "It's my birthday today?" I ask confused. Mike bursts out laughing, "you i***t it is your birthday!" "Miele, it's June 29th, did you forget?" My mom asks letting out a laugh. It is my birthday I'm stupid. "I'm 18!" I smile and cheer. We all laugh at my stupidity. I finish my food and wash my plate. "Mom, I'll be home late today, is that okay?" I ask. "Go ahead but don't stay out too late." My mom smiles brightly at me. I nod and head to my room. I check my phone which was buzzing with messages from Aliyah. They read: Helloooo Hey Beech Answer Hoe Weirdo Bestie Lady Wifey Happy MF Birthday Miele Answerrrr I love you I miss you Come hang out with me. I laugh at her messages and text her back. Hi Aliyah, I was eating so stap spamming although... Wait don't stop because I love you spamming me and I love you more. I miss you too. Where shall we meet? She immediately responds: Meet me at the mall right now. You are coming with me to a party and we are going to celebrate your special 18th. I let out a laugh and write back: Demanding much? I'm the birthday girl. But it's okay I will meet you in 15 mins. :) She texts back an "Okie Dokie" and I smile time to go see my best friend Aliyah. I grab my purse and make my way downstairs, I put on my sneakers, and go outside waving bye to Mike and my mom. I drive to the mall. I arrive at Erin Mills town center, the mall, and to no surprise, Aliyah is standing at the entrance with a few balloons smiling like an i***t.
