There was not a single person in the room who was not stunned by Rock’s sudden announcement. I narrowed my eyes and looked at Ethan, but Ethan himself was staring at Rock with a stupefied look on his face. He clearly knew nothing about this.
Beside him, Quintin panicked and pointed a finger at me. “Bro! You can’t just reveal something like that out of the blue, much less in front of an outsider!”
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” said Rock with a hearty laugh. “Didn’t I already say that a friend of Ethan is a friend of mine? I trust him, so that’s that.”
Quintin wanted to say something more, but Rock shushed him with a wave of his arm. After fishing out a pair of cigars from his pockets and passing them to Ethan and me, he asked, “So, what do you think about my plan, Ethan?”
