I walked into the SD Club with Louise, Forrest and Ethan behind me. Suffice to say, there was no one in the entire club, employee or customer, who were not stunned by our arrival. They were even more stunned when we sat down and spoke to each other amiably.
I could understand their sentiment. Just a few weeks ago, everyone except me represented a force that could never reconcile with one another. The fact that they were not bashing each other’s faces in must be such a shock to the bystanders.
In fact, Forrest and Ethan had reacted the exact same way when I had taken Louise to meet them. I did not bother explaining the circumstances, only that Louise was now one of us.
