"What's wrong? Is it because you don't want to be with a girl," she yelled at me, tears welling in her eyes, "is that it?"

I shook my head, a smirk twisting the edges of my mouth. "Princess," I drawled, "it isn't about you being a girl." I stalked forward and caught a pink strand of her hair. I curled it around my finger and tucked it behind her ear.

"Then what is it?" she asked, her wide eyes looking at my lips from a brief moment.

I sucked in a breath when her lips parted, sending a zing of longing throughout my body. My teeth sharpened and my eyes illuminated. I pinned her against the wall behind her and shoved my face in the spot between her neck and shoulder. The sandalwood scent that she emanated assaulted my nose and it took all of me not to sink my fangs into her pulsating jugular. I could hear the blood rushing through her veins.

I raised my head slightly, my lips grazing her earlobe. "It's because you turn me on so much I can't f*****g think. You invade all my senses and break all of my control." My tongue snaked out and licked the back of her ear, a shiver rolling through me as my fangs brushed against her sun-kissed neck.

I shuddered again, painfully pulling my mouth away from her neck. I was nearly salivating at the thought of sinking my fangs into her. She didn't dare move while I yanked myself away.

Tears began to well in my eyes and I cursed myself at being so weak. I'd spent years gaining the control I needed to make sure I didn't hurt anyone again, and here I was associating myself with the very thing I had no control with.

Chapter One
Song Recommendation: Borns - Electric Love  one. Eryn. It was a slow night, which I was glad that it was. Having a slow night gave me time to scope out the place, observing everyone as their sweat-slicked bodies undulated under the strobe lights. My gaze settled over a group of females that were dancing on the edge of the dancefloor. A pheromone was oozing from one of them that I couldn't help but sway closer. I lost myself in the mob, watching them from afar. I couldn't decipher which female was giving off those pheromones. I needed to get closer.  It was like I was in a trance, getting drawn into the sea of bodies as if it was high tide.   The scent of sandalwood and rose washed over me as a sun-kissed brown haired girl twirled in front of me. Her half-lidded gaze swept over me, and I smirked.  Hook, line, and sinker.  She was the one with the addictive scent. She was overwhelming my senses.  As she swayed her body closer to mine, she matched the rhythm of the music along with my movements. Upon closer look, her hair was adorned with ringlets that had strands of pink among them. I wanted to take a piece and twirl it around my fingers. The girl swirled around me and I slid my hands down to her hips, moving them along with mine. Her scent was irresistible, dragging me under her spell. I swayed along to the song with her, catching waves of her sandalwood and rose scent every time her hair swooshed.  As the song came to a close, I twirled her around to face me. I surmised she didn't see that she got so caught up dancing with a stranger since her eyes widened once the song ended. She pushed me away with more strength than I expected and she left, weaving in between the sea of bodies until she was gone. The scent of sandalwood and rose stood with me, all the way until morning.  ↝↝↝. The next few nights, I looked around for the girl with the pink streaks in her hair. It was the fourth night that she showed, this time with a group of friends. The club was at it's busiest, but the unmistakable scent of her confirmed her presence. I couldn't stop thinking about her fragrance. She had me entranced. I made my way toward where she was sitting. If I wasn't experienced, I would've been nervous to address her. With years of me accosting women, this one wouldn't be any different. I would hope to take her to my place across the street and have my way with her. She would want to stay with me for a while, as they all did. I couldn't help if they got attached.  I sauntered towards her, sliding a hand through my short hair.  She was sitting on the end in a booth with her friends. She caught me with the corner of her eye and turned her attention towards me.  "Hey," I smiled, staring at every feature on her face. She had wide blue eyes, reminding me of the tropical oceans in the Carribean. Her nose was cute, the tip of her nose upturned a bit. It made me want to pinch it. I withdrew my eyes away from her lips as fast as I could before she saw. What I did see before I glanced away were her bow-shaped lips that had a slight purse to them. I watched as she formed the word hi. Her lips parted and even with the loud music booming around us, I could hear the slight intake of breath before she spoke. "Nice tats," she said, her gaze hovering over my forearms. "Thanks. I saw you the other night and you're here again tonight and I feel like you owe me a dance," I explained, watching as a slight smile made its way to her cherub face. "I owe you a dance?" she echoed, glimpsing at her friends and then to me.  A girl that sat in front of her nodded, waving her hands towards me. "Go and dance. We won't go anywhere." She took the shot glass in front of her and clinked it to the other girl that was sitting there as well.  The girl that was sitting on the other end of the booth grasped my arm. "We'll let you dance with her," she slurred, "but you have to come back and drink with us." "Ally!" The sandalwood girl called, a blush forming to her face quickly.  I chuckled, nodding. "Yes, once I bring her back to you, I will drink with you all. The round will be on me." "Ooh! I like her already," Ally giggled.  Sandalwood girl touched my arm gently. I turned to her and smiled. "Shall we?" I held out my hand. She took it tentatively, allowing me to pull her into the mass of people. Her body was immediately pressed against mine, the throngs of people pushing us together. "What's your name?" she shouted over the music.  I frowned, knowing she would have trouble hearing me over the music. If I was human, I would've had trouble hearing her. "Come with me to the bar, we can get to know each other while we get your friends some drinks." I clasped her hand and led her through the crowd, occasionally turning back to see if she was okay. Her heartbeat sped up and I couldn't tell if it was because of the crowd or because of me.  Perhaps I was coming off too strong.  Every human was different.  "Marina," she answered as she sat down on a barstool, "but everyone calls me Mari." "Beautiful name," I muttered, motioning to the bartender to give us shots. I wouldn't get drunk off regular alcohol, but I was hoping Marina was a lightweight.  "And yours?" "Eryn," I twisted to her and smirked, "with an E." "And why come to me?" Marina asked, confusion written on her face. "Because you're beautiful," I returned, knocking back a shot. I'm sure she had to know that, at least. "You don't know if I'm interested in women," she responded, gazing down at the shot in front of her. There was a small smile on her that implied that she was very much, in fact, into women. "Well you're sitting here with me aren't you?" I chuckled softly, sinking closer to her face. She searched my eyes for a moment. Instantly, a blush crept from her neck and made its way to her cheeks. Mari straightened up. "I don't know," she blurted, "I really haven't done much of anything."  "But you're attracted to me, yes?" I asked, catching a curl that came undone from her ponytail and tucking it behind her ear. The club lights didn't do justice for her hair. It was so incredibly beautiful. The strobe lights stifled her beauty. That's was fine, that meant I was the only one that could see her clearly in here. I wanted her all to myself. This was one of those rare moments where I was glad for my vampiric abilities. Her eyes dipped to my lips again then to the tattoos that lined my arms. She swallowed deliberately.  I laughed and shook my head. "I'll take that as a yes?" "I wanted to dance with you more the other night," Marina seized the shot and drank it hastily. Her mouth contorted in repugnance and she stuck out her tongue, "ugh." "Not much of a drinker Marina?" I inquired, turning the stool to face her. I was quite a couple of inches taller than she was, and I had to lean in to get closer to her. "No... " she trailed off, staring at my eyes, "why are your eyes like that?" I sat up straight, backing off. Were they shifting into my bloodlust color? "Like what?" My confidence faltered quickly and I wish I hadn't pursued her so quickly until I knew I was in control. I thought I could do this. "They're so... haunted."
