From inside of the car. I could already see and even feel the flashes of reporter's camera. I wonder who are their sources and how do they always show up in a supposed to be privately-held event like this annual polo game that is one of the royal family's unbreakable tradition. We could miss anything else except for this one. The door at my side opened. I move a little and was about to step out when Kat hold my hand. Stopping me from what I am about to do. I darted a questioning look at her. "Annoyance and irritation are sketch all over his royal highness, Crown Prince Sinichi's face as he and his wife shows up at this year's polo match. How's that for tonight and tomorrow's headline for the national tv and newspaper?" she asked. The muscles on my face relaxes. I didn't even realize that I had the unfriendly and dead-face expression. Kat grab something from the small compartment on her side. She handed me a black-framed sunglasses and put it on my face. "Better," she announced. Her lips protruded, it's pointing the door. She is signalling me to step out. I give her my hand and pretended as if I am her mindful and protective husband that makes sure she is perfect as she dash out of the car. Our hands remained intertwined as we walk in the fields. Few more steps from the tent where we will wait for the elders of the royal family. I heard the galloping of horse and when I tilted my head to the side to look who is approaching us. I saw Xaviro with his black horse. "Wo!" Xaviro said. His horse stop right before my eyes. Although he's wearing sunglasses too. I am certain that our eyes met. The collision lasted for a few more seconds before he get off his horse. "Xav!" Kat called him excitedly. I looked at my wife amusely. I get it. They are bestfriends and Xaviro is probably the only royalty that she gets along with and I hate it for some reason that I couldn't fathom myself. "You are back... since when? You didn't tell me." My eyes does not want to leave the two of them this time. The two look like they are the main characters of some romantic movies and I am the unwanted second lead. "You should have call---" Kat was in a stage of confusion for seconds after I held her wrist and pull her back a bit. Just enough for our body to level. Xaviro smirk and his attention is finally back at me. "That's the reason." Xaviro mouthed while his eyes are looking back and forth. "I know for fact that his highness hates it when I am lingering around the things that are his... same goes with people... and while I am your friend. He is your husband." Xaviro laugh after his subtle insult. I laughed too to play along with him. "I don't think it's my fault that I know how to protect things that are rightfully mine... same goes with people," I said. My feet move. I tilted my body to lean closer to him. "You wouldn't know what I mean because you don't have something that you need to protect because everyone is dying to take it away from you," I whispered to him. The smile on his lips froze. That's when I knew that I hit some nerve. I pat his shoulder before I intertwine my hands with Kat and pulled her back in the tent. "I wish you stay away from him," I said in between sweet smile. Kat stared back at me. Her eyes is filled with disbelief. "What if I don't want too? He is my friend Sinichi... and he is your cousin." "Exactly. He is my cousin. He is in line waiting for the throne. He is the second choice to become the crown prince---" "But you are the crown prince now. Where is this nonsensical feeling of getting threatened by a mere count?" she whispered. We are in a heated argument but we don't want people around us to see and hear us fighting. "He is the Queen Dowager's favorite." "You are the King's son," Kat countered hoping that she could shut me up with that fact. "Unfortunately the King adores him more." Kat sighed. "You are this jealous of him? If he is scaring your ass then why don't you just have him kill?" she asked. My eyes glistened and whe she saw it. She was take a back. She was scared that I might consider killing Xaviro. "If I had know that you are this smart. I would have fallen in love with you sooner," I said with a vile smile plastered on my lips. "Stop it, Sinichi." Silence rose in between the two of us. It didn't last for too long after she c**k her head on my side. "Please the least thing I want is to be married and have child with a murderee." I rested my back on the chair. "We'll see what happens... after all life is full of surprises." "f**k!" I cuss underneath my breath. As the opposing team lead by Xaviro win in today's match and in full celebration. My blood is boiling and it feels like I will burst out of anger. I jump off my horse. Handed my wooden mallet and helmet to one of the field assistant before I walk back to the tent. The Queen Consort's eyes and mine met. She is calm and looks like a typical mother that wants to comfort her child after losing in its favorite sport but I know for sure that she is disappointed. Adira Stygians hates losing more than death itself. She raised me up believing in that too. "You did well, Sinichi." The Queen Dowager complimented me. I glance at her and flashes a polite smile. "But I lose. I'm sorry," I muttered. I walk straight to the table filled with bottle of waters. I opened one of them aggressively and stuck up everything in my mouth before I crashed the bottled water. "That f*****g Xaviro!"
