Tiara and Stacy walked into The Flamingo. Nervous as hell. Stacy squeezed her hand. “It’ll be okay T.”
‘What if they don’t like us?’
‘They will. Trust me.’
She smiled nervously.
They walked further into the bar where a young male was cleaning the glasses. He looked up and smiled. “How can I help you ladies? We’re kinda closed right now, but if you come back around seven you can get a drink or two.” he winked.
We laughed. “We’re here to see Big Bob, handsome.” Stacy winked and I rolled my eyes.
“Stac you have someone I don’t think Kristian will be too pleased with his WIFE.” I said, pointing out the obvious.
She shushed me, waving her hands. “And there’s also a good old saying you can look, but you can’t touch.”
He laughed, shaking his head. “So you two lovely ladies have an appointment with Big Bob?”
“We certainty do sexy.”
“Stacy you're making things worse he’ll never hire us if you start fraternizing with the staff.”
He laughed louder. “Follow me ladies, he’s in the back.”
We nodded, following him through the door that led to the back of the club. “I’m Benji and who may I ask, is asking for Big Bob.”
“I’m Stacy and this is my BFF, Tiara. He’s expecting us.”
He nodded. “It’s not often we get not one but two lovely ladies wanting to work here.”
“Now whose flirting?” Stacey asked, rolling her eyes.
It was my turn to laugh. He smirked before knocking on the door. “Who is it? If it’s not my ten am f**k off.”
“Boss, your ten am is here.”
“Shit.”
It sounded like someone had fallen to the floor, as the thud shook the building. “Bring them in, Benji.”
“Yes sir.” He looked at us. Opening the door. “Follow me ladies.”
They followed him through to the large office. Yep. He definitely fell off his chair.
Big Bob
“Sorry, you had to hear that, ladies. I’m Big Bob and you must be Stacey Brown and Tiara Hemingway?”
“That we are.”
We all shook hands. “You can go now Benji, thanks for escorting the girls to my office.”
“No probs boss.” He turned winking before walking out, closing the door behind him.
“So what brings you to these parts? I understand that you worked in the USA?”
“We did.”
“May I ask you what brought you out to Aussie?”
“Our time was up. We went to Uni for four years and worked in the bars over there, so we had enough money to pay for our lodgings and food.”
He nodded.
“Are you sure you want this from your life? You look like two intelligent women who can get any high-paid job that they want.”
“It is. This is all we know, all we’ve done for the past four years.”
“I see. Are you running away from something that happened in your past?”
“Not really.”
“And you Tiara? What are you running from?”
“I erm.”
“You can trust me. Nothing we say goes out of this room.”
“A marriage I didn’t want.”
“I see. Will he be visiting anytime soon?”
God I hope not.
“No he won't, he doesn’t know where I am.”
He nodded. “Good, then it’s settled you have to work here every night from seven thirty. We open at eight weekdays and nine Friday to Sunday. Do you think you can handle it? It gets really busy.”
They looked at each other and nodded, then looked back at me.
“We do.’
“Well, welcome to the team ladies. Tiara, you’ll be working with Benji and Stacy. You’ll be working with Juels, he’s not in until later, so come around seven so you both get to know your partners in crime.l” I chuckled.
I shook their hands and told them to be here for seven. They smiled politely and thanked me again for giving them a chance.
The truth was, Kristian told me I had no choice about giving them a place there. I agreed because Stacey was his wife and Tiana wanted a new beginning away from her psycho ex Shaun Thomas.
I couldn’t even believe such a polite girl would want anything to do with the likes of a guy like him. I was going to make sure she stayed safe, and he could never get to her. That’s why I paired her with Benji. He was one tough cookie.
