Sara’s POV The two of them look at me expectantly. It almost makes me want to bolt…and then I’m saved when the door opens and Kai walks into the room. He is carrying a tray loaded with food. “You should eat,” I say to Christian–as if he needs me to tell him. But that’s my get-away card, and I leave the room before any of them can steer us back into the conversation. I’ll have to tell them the truth at some point, but maybe I can wait a little longer. Besides, Christian is wounded right now. There’s no need to cause trouble when he needs to rest and heal. In the morning, I stay in my room until I’m sure everyone has already left for class.
