Chapter 12Grace is already waiting for them across the road from their parent’s house, crouched low. At first Jasper thinks she’s trying to stay low so she’ll go unnoticed, but as they pull up beside her and she doesn’t even look up, he realizes she’s crouching in pain. Jasper gets out and opens the door for her, wrapping an arm around her back and helping her to her feet. She climbs in the back seat with a grimace.
