Chapter 26“I knew you’d turn up while I was out. Flynn carried your stuff up, I hope,” Jasper calls out to his sister sitting on the lounge, wishing he had someone to help him carry his bags as he sets half a dozen shopping bags down on the kitchen counter.
“He did. I don’t exactly want to be relying on a man, though,” Grace complains, getting up and waddling over to the bench. Her walk and the very obvious bump are cute to Jasper. “You don’t count. Because you’re my brother, not because you’re gay.”
Jasper pauses, blinking in confusion. “I…” he shakes his head, deciding not to bother responding to that. “There was no food in this place, and I’ve got to have decent food to feed you, so I did some shopping. I’m looking forward to cooking some of our old favorite meals.”
