Prolouge and Chapter 1

Prolouge:

Do you believe in mermaids?

Siren?

Merman?

What if I tell you that we are real?

What I mean is.. THEY are REAL..

By the way, I am Samanea ..

Half mermaid, half fairy ..

But I don't have a tail ..

My ears are pointed.

And I can breathe under the sea, but I don't have a tail ..

The fairy under the sea ..

Chapter 1:

"Samanea .. Why don't you come out of your room?"

My father 'the king' asked. I didn't say a word so he decided to leave, I could see him because only long mosses served as a barrier on the circular path to my room.

We mermaids, live at the very bottom of the sea. How come I considered myself as a mermaid? I don't have any tail. Anyway, it is always bright here in the bottom of the sea. The darkness doesn't come because of the power of my king father. Yes you are right, my father is a king so I am a princess. But I am different from all of them.

Like what I said, I have no tail. I have legs but I can breathe under the water. I am the result of the love of my mermaid father and my fairy mother.

My father said that when he ascended to the land of the humans to do his mission before becoming a king, fate determined that he would meet my mother. She is also in a human form so he does not know her true identity. They fell in love with each other but my mother’s father who was then the king of the fairies back then, blocked it so they can't do anything when they were separated by my mother's father.

But my father did not know that my mother was pregnant that time. So time passed by, my father was about to be appointed king when suddenly someone came down from above our kingdom. It turned out to be my mother, she was full of wounds on her body as she hugged me thightly in her arms.

Exactly in the kingdom my mother fell so my father saw her. He said that my mother was dying then, she just did everything she could to get to my father's world. She used all her power just to take me to my father. He told him to take good care of me because I was the result of their love, but before my mother died, her body emitted a strong light and it moved to my baby body and then her body suddenly disappeared.

My father was very upset and wanted revenge for what had happened to my mother. But my grandfather the king of mermaids that time stopped him. My grandfather told him that if he took a bad step, the result would not be good for our kingdom. My father listened to my grandfather. And since then, he has taken good care of me.

Only now have I had sullen to him. He wanted me to marry a merman from another kingdom. My resistance for this idea was so bad, because it was too early for me to get married.

I still have a lot to do. I even wanted to go to the land of the humans, which my father was disapproving a lot.

But that’s also what my mother wanted. I read the diary she left for me. It was also wrapped up with me when my mom took me to my dad. She gave me a mission, but she didn’t want me to let my father know.

I also don’t know how I understood my mother’s diary, because even when my father opened it he didn’t understand even one word.

"Samanea .." I turned to the sound of the voice that called my name which caused me to stop in my remminiscing.

"Oh Luryana. Why are you here?"

She smiled first before entering my room. Luryana is the only mermaid I have ever felt comfortable with. We are best friends, he doesn’t judge me even if I don’t have a tail like her.

"Because the dear king told me to visit you. He is very worried that you will not come out of your room forever. You may be very angry with him." She explained and sat on my big clam bed.

"Because he still wants to insist about my marriage to a prince that I haven't seen before. Even if I object a lot, he won't really break his decision." I said while frowning at her.

But as she always does, she just smiles at me as if she is saying that everything will be fine.

"Why don't you talk to the dear king about the mission your mother has entrusted to you?" I turned to her because of what she said.

"You know its impossible, I didn't tell you either, didn't I?"

"So? Don't tell the dear king also, just tell him you have a mission, but you won't say what it is." She still insist the idea.

"Will he agree?" I said while looking at the emptiness asking no one.

Luryana just shrugged her shoulders even though she knew she wasn't the one I was asking in my last question.

Luryana and I talked a lot more before she decided to leave because her mother might be looking for her.

I walked to the balcony of my room and surveyed our kingdom and realm.

It is so beautiful here in our kingdom that you will never want to leave again. It is very bright giving life to the different colors of coral reef houses. Even our kingdom is also made of huge coral reefs. I don’t know how they molded it like this but it is so beautiful. Many different fish swimming. Mermaids and sirens pass by, of course they swimming also.

It was a paradise for me.

But even though I grew up full of my father’s love, I still can't escape the mermaids and mermans judging me for being half -fairy and outwardly human.

My father said that I looked very much like my mother. My ears were pointed like those of fairies. I have long chocolate colored hair and my eyes are blue. I can breathe in the water. That until now my father also did not know the reason. I can control the water as well as my father can. Ability that only those with noble blood can possess. But I could read anyone's mind if I wanted to. My father didn't know that. And also one of my biggest secret, is me, having a tail. I can transform myself as a mermaid if I wanted too. But my tail color is golden. The tail of the nobles should be silver. It is a sign of having a noble blood. Normal sirens can have different tail colors. Only the nobles are really unique. To this day it is still a puzzle for me to have a golden tail.

So I never told my father about it. Because he would definitely be proud of me having a tail so that others would not think badly of me. Even the other nobles are getting freak out of me having no tail at all. It would only add to their dislike of me if they discovered that I have a tail, so I decided not to let them know. Luryana is the only one who sees my mermaid form, she says I look more beautiful in the form of a mermaid, she also said that it is more appropriate for me than the human form.

But I still prefer to look human in recognition of my mother.

I decided to get out of my room and talk to my father. I saw him sitting on his throne and talking to the leader of the siren soldiers. When they saw me approaching they stopped talking and the soldier siren bowed in respect. He also bowed to me as he passed in front of me, I just nodded.

My father immediately smiled and hugged me as I approached him.

"It's good that you decided to go out of your room my dear. Don't get mad at me, I won't let you marry the prince if you don't really want my dear." my father explained immediately. I nodded and returned his hug. When he broke away from the hug I decided to tell him my plan.

"Father..I want to tell you something." I started. He did not speak which meant he was listening. 

"Didn't I ask you to allow me to go up to land of the humans? It is because of the mission that mother gave me." Confusion filled his face but he still did not speak signaling me to continue. "Do you remember father the book that my mother left me that you can't read or understand. It's amazing even to me but I can read and understand it. And there she wrote what she wanted me to do, but I can't tell anyone even you father whatever it is. " he gasped at what I said. He seemed to be having a hard time deciding. He thought more deeply before looking at me and giving me an answer.

"If your mother wants you to go ahead I'll let you." I immediately smiled at what he said.

"But-" and there is a 'but', I scratched my head.

"I want you to include Luryana in your mission. I will put a spell on Luryana that will give me a signal when you are in great danger. The sky will immediately darken and within ten minutes and the signal does not change I will automatically go to your whereabouts through of the spell I'm going to put on Luryana. So you two shouldn't separate. Do you understand? " I nodded at everything he said. My father really loved me and wanted me to always be in good shape.

"I want you to be very careful in the land of human my dear. It is a very dangerous world. And most of all, you haven't discovered your other abilities yet. You always have to be careful. Especially with your emotions. In the human world, your emotions have a strong effect on their weather. That's one of your mother's unique abilities, and I'm sure you'll inherit that from her. "He ordered again while holding my two hands.

"I can't figure out why dad, but I understand everything you said even though the other word you mentioned is just now I just heard." I smiled and told him.

"I'll be careful father. And I know mother always guides me." I added and hugged my father again.

Closer mother .. I am getting closer..I am about to start my mission .. Guide me mom..
