CHAPTER 1
2019, December 30 The blowing of plastic trumpets can be heard inside the 6 corners of our house. It's the 30th of December where we celebrate New Year, New Life sabi nila. But I guess we made this a tradition to meet up with the family and the neighbors. It wasnʼt boring, masaya naman kaso I'm still waiting for the Teddy Bear that Auntie Mayi told me na sheʼll bring noong 6 years old pa ako. Natatandaan ko yung time na yun — "Merry Christmas!" They said in unison, and I, blowed the plastic trumpet that was bought for me and my bestfriend, Maru, we were inseparable. "Read it, Sofi. Read the last chapter aloud and I'll give you your teddy bear. "Whatʼs that your reading?" my Mommy Irah asked. She never really saw me with a book, So it's new to her. "It was the book that was given to me noong 2013 pa po by Auntie." I said reminiscing. She nodded satisfied with my answer kaya't sinabi niyang iwan ko muna ang libro sa may istante at kunin ang huling ulam na ihahanda sa lamesa. I did my part, and so mother let me read the book in the couch. I was so drawn to the settings that I didn't notice the stares my Auntie Mayi gave to me and the book. kuwitis ang nagsilbing liwanag sa pusikit na langit at tila'y pinawi nito ang mga bituin na kumikinang tuwing sumasapit ang dilim ngunit hindi nito mapawi ang aking ngiti sa tuwing nakikita kita, Sariaya, ikaw ang Binibining hinihintay umaga at magpakailanman. " As the fireworks reached the night sky, the lines on the book was read aloud unconsciously. She felt a deep pang to her chest for an unknown reason, like Erosʼ bow pierced through her heart. I had confessed to the stars, and my love for him blossomed. the reader, Sofi Gozon.
