The New Beginning
INTRODUCTION
Grace is a pastor’s child. She grew up in the warm embrace of a Christian family, surrounded by faith, love, and a deep sense of purpose. From an early age, she was taught to lean on God’s word and guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. To many, her life seemed perfect—anchored in spiritual strength, with a clear path ahead. But life, as Grace would learn, is never as simple or predictable as it seems.
Behind her calm and steady character, Grace carried silent struggles. They weren’t always visible to others, but they were real—moments of self-doubt, inner battles with fear, and questions about her worth. When love came into her life, it felt like a beautiful gift. She gave her heart fully, trusting in the promise of shared dreams. But love also brought pain. When her heart was broken, the grief was overwhelming, and for a time, she felt lost, questioning everything she believed in.
Grace’s journey wasn’t perfect or easy, but it was real. And through every trial, she learned to rely on God, who never left her side. Her story is a reminder that faith isn’t about having all the answers or a life without struggles. It’s about trusting in God, who turns even our heartaches and brokenness into something beautiful. Join me to go deeper in the Journey of Ms. Grace in her uniqueness.
Prologue: A Prayer of Surrender
The room was dark and still, but my heart was numb and I could feel anything but pain. I sat on the edge of my bed, staring into the emptiness of this place that had become both my refuge and my prison. Tears so familiar spilled freely down my face, each one carrying fragments of pain, betrayal, and rejection that I could no longer bear. My trembling hands covered my face as I whispered words I had avoided for too long.
“Lord, I can’t carry this anymore.” Lord, what shall I do?”
The years have passed, but the memories still come back to me, each one leaving its mark. Moments spent searching for a sense of belonging without proving myself, building walls to protect a heart that’s been hurt more times than I care to count. I think back now to how hard I tried to hold everything together, pretending I was strong when I wasn’t, hiding the little cracks that no one could see. But as I sit here, looking back, it feels like the pieces of my soul have been scattered along the way, and for the first time, I realize just how much of myself I’ve poured out. It’s a bittersweet reflection, one filled with lessons, heartbreak, and the quiet strength I never knew I had.
Kneeling on the floor, I lifted my face toward heaven, tears blurring my vision. “Lord, I lay it all down at Your feet. Take my hurt, my anger, my fear. Take this brokenness and make something new. I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I trust you.”
In that stillness, I felt an embrace so real, so warm, that it wrapped around every shattered piece of me. It wasn’t condemnation. It wasn’t rejection. It was love. A love I had longed for my entire life.
That night, I surrendered not just my pain, but every burden I had carried. At the foot of the cross, I found the freedom I didn’t know my soul had been aching for. And in His presence, I knew one thing with absolute certainty: I didn’t need to fight alone anymore.
This is the story of my journey, of brokenness and beauty, of betrayal and redemption, of fear and faith. It’s the story of how I found healing, not by my own strength, but by leaning on the One who carried me through every storm.
And it begins here, at the foot of the cross.
