In the quiet border town of Greyhaven, the forest is more than trees and shadows—it is a boundary. A warning. A secret guarded by moonlight and blood.Elara has spent her life surviving on the edges of that secret. She believes in work, not destiny. In herbs, not myths. In getting through each day without expecting miracles. Wolves, Alphas, and moon-bound creatures belong to stories told in whispers, not reality.Until the night Blackridge Forest answers her back. When Elara crosses paths with Kael Blackthorn, Alpha of the Blackridge Pack, the impossible happens. A rare and ancient mate bond ignites—one that should never exist. She is human. He is Alpha. And the moon does not make such mistakes without consequence.Kael is a ruler shaped by discipline and restraint, feared by enemies and trusted by his pack. He has lived his life by law, control, and sacrifice. But the bond to Elara threatens everything he has built. Protecting her could fracture his pack. Claiming her could ignite war. Letting her go may destroy him.As Elara struggles to return to her ordinary life, the bond refuses to loosen. Plants react to her touch. Power stirs beneath her skin. And wolves beyond Blackridge begin to notice. The truth is far more dangerous than either of them imagined.Elara is Moonborn—a forgotten bloodline erased from history. Neither wolf nor human, Moonborn exist as balance, capable of awakening ancient forces that threaten the very structure of pack rule. Once her power stirs, it cannot be hidden.Within Blackridge, loyalty begins to crack. Cassian, the calculating Beta, questions the cost of defying tradition. Nyra, a fierce warrior, senses Elara’s importance long before others accept it. Ronan prepares for bloodshed. Maera, the seer, confirms what the moon has already declared. And Seraphine, cold and ambitious, sees Elara not as fate—but as a weakness that must be eliminated.Beyond the forest, rival packs stir. The ruthless Eastclaw Pack recognizes Elara’s awakening for what it is: power worth controlling—or destroying. Old treaties begin to fracture. Neutral ground becomes contested. War looms beneath every howl.At the heart of it all is a bond neither Kael nor Elara asked for—but one that demands everything from them. Their relationship is a slow-burn forged under pressure, where trust grows alongside danger and love becomes an act of defiance.Alpha Mate: Bound by the Moon is a paranormal romance steeped in magic, pack politics, and fate. It tells the story of a woman who was never meant to exist, an Alpha forced to choose between law and love, and a world that must bend—or break—under the weight of a power long forgotten. The moon chose her.Now the night will answer.

THE NIGHT THE FOREST BREATHED
The forest had never been silent. Elara had grown up hearing its voice—the rustle of leaves, the creak of old trees, the distant cry of night creatures. But tonight, the forest felt aware. As though it watched her every step, counting her breaths, waiting. “Just get the herbs and go,” she muttered to herself, adjusting the strap of her worn bag. “Ten minutes, Elara. That’s all.” The moon hung low and full above Blackridge Forest, silver light spilling between the branches. She hated coming here at night, but the apothecary in town had been clear. Come back without wolfsbane again and don’t bother coming back at all. Elara exhaled shakily. “I’ll be fine,” she whispered, though her heart disagreed. A twig snapped behind her. She froze. “Hello?” Her voice echoed, too loud, too fragile. No answer. She took another step. Then the scent hit her. Warm. Wild. Earth and smoke and something undeniably male. Her breath caught, her fingers curling against her palm. “That’s… strange,” she murmured. Her skin prickled. The air thickened. Somewhere deep in the forest, a low sound rolled through the trees. A growl. Not warning. Recognition. “Elara, don’t be stupid,” she whispered sharply to herself. “Run.” Her feet refused to move. The shadows shifted. He emerged from the darkness like the forest itself had shaped him—tall, broad, powerful. His presence pressed into her, stealing the air from her lungs. Dark hair framed a face carved with authority, and his eyes… Amber. Glowing. Elara staggered back a step. “You—who are you?” Kael Blackthorn stopped several feet away, though every instinct screamed to close the distance. His wolf surged violently inside him. Mate. The word echoed like thunder in his mind. Impossible. She was human. He could smell it beneath the fear and confusion. Soft skin. Fragile heartbeat. And yet— “My moon,” his wolf snarled. Kael clenched his fists. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said, his voice rough, controlled by centuries of Alpha discipline. Elara lifted her chin, even as her pulse raced. “Funny. I was about to say the same thing.” He blinked. She was afraid—but she wasn’t weak. “What’s your name?” he asked before he could stop himself. She hesitated. “Why do you want to know?” “Because the forest already knows it.” A chill slid down her spine. “…Elara.” The moment the name left her lips, the bond snapped tight. Kael sucked in a sharp breath, his knees nearly buckling. The moon burned brighter above them, searing the ancient magic into his blood. Elara gasped, clutching her chest. “What did you just do to me?” “I didn’t do anything,” he said hoarsely. “The moon did.” Her eyes widened. “That’s not funny.” “I’m not joking.” Silence stretched between them, thick and trembling. “You’re shaking,” Kael said quietly. “So are you,” she shot back. His lips twitched despite himself. “Are you… a wolf?” she asked. “Yes.” “And you’re dangerous?” “To everyone but you.” She laughed—short, disbelieving. “You don’t even know me.” “I know enough,” he replied. “You crossed into Alpha land without realizing it.” “I needed herbs,” she said defensively. “I didn’t know your forest had rules.” “It has laws,” he corrected. “And one of them is very clear.” “And that is?” “No human walks out of Blackridge Forest once claimed by the moon.” Her face paled. “Claimed?” Kael took a step back, forcing distance between them. “You’re free to leave. Tonight.” She stared at him. “Tonight?” “After tonight, the pack will scent you on me.” “And that’s bad?” “They will want answers I’m not ready to give.” Elara swallowed. “Then why are you still here?” “Because my wolf refuses to let you walk away.” The forest breathed around them, leaves whispering secrets older than both of them. Elara tightened her grip on her bag. “I don’t belong in your world.” Kael met her gaze, something fierce and protective burning in his eyes. “You don’t get to choose that anymore.” Her voice trembled. “I didn’t ask for this.” “Neither did I,” he said softly. “But the moon never asks.” A distant howl echoed through the forest. Kael stiffened.
