SERA
The knock on my door woke me up and I groaned. I had barely gotten any sleep after seeing those pictures yesterday. I had told Christy and Matteo, I didn't know why I told them but I had and they promised that I'd be safe no matter what.
The knock came again and I grudgingly stood up, whoever it was wasn't planning to give up.
“Who is that?” I asked as I opened the door and Christy stood in front of me with a frown. “What?”
“You opened the door without confirming who it was,” she scolded and I shrugged.
“It's a house Christy, no one can kidnap me.”
“Never say never,” she said and walked in.
“Get dressed,” she said before sitting down on the bed. That was when I took a good look at her, she looked dressed, casual but dressed.
“Where are we going?” I asked and sat beside her but she stood up and dragged me up. “Uhhhh, Christy, I’m tired,” I whined but she didn't stop.
“I promised we would go shopping today, so, up up.”
“Do we really have to?”
“Yeah, Sera we do.”
I looked at her for a few seconds before I sighed. “ Fine, give me ten minutes.”
“Five!” She yelled as I walked into the bathroom.
********************
The boutique we went to looked different, not the regular one that I rarely visited with the housekeeper.
“This place looks expensive, Christy,” I whispered and she laughed.
“Thank God we had Damian's card then,” she said and I froze. “What?”
“You took his card?”
“Yeah?”
“Without telling him?”
“Yeah.”
I groaned then. “Oh my god Christy, he's going to bite our head off,” I whispered and she chuckled.
“Relax Sera,” she said flatly, like it wasn't deep. “He wouldn't even notice.”
“Really?” I asked with a raised eyebrow and she nodded.
“You really don't know how loaded your husband is, do you?” She asked and I shrugged, taking in the word husband then. It still sounded strange.
“Welcome Miss Christy. Welcome Mrs De Luca,” the sales associate suddenly greeted and we turned to her.
“Hi, Jasmine,” Christy started cheerfully. “How happy are you to attend to the newest wife in town?”
I shifted uncomfortably but the smiles on their faces made me relax a bit.
“Really happy,” she said and I chuckled nervously.
“It's nice to meet you,” I finally said and she nodded.
“The outfits selected are waiting,” she said and I nodded before walking in with her.
After several outfits were changed and discarded, we finally selected the ones we wanted and the sales associate packaged them.
“This is so expensive,” I whispered to Christy immediately I saw the price, finding it hard to believe.
“It's nothing,” Christy replied and suddenly dragged me towards a counter.
“We've bought enough Christy,” I protested but she didn't budge.
“Just one more item to go,” she assured and I finally followed her.
She walked towards a shelf and picked it up then, examining it like it was some lap test. My eyes widened when those goofy smiles appeared on her face.
“No!”
“"This," she announced, ignoring me. "is exactly what you need.”
“No,” I repeated but she looked at me then.
“You need it Sera, the whole tension and everything that's been happening.”
“So a s*x toy solves it?”
“Yeah,” she shrugged. “What could be better than using a rose bought with your husband's money?”
“Christy—”
"Tension," she said with complete seriousness, already moving toward the counter. "You are carrying tension in places tension has no business being and there is a perfectly simple solution right here." She placed it on the counter without hesitation. "We'll take this one please."
"I am not—"
" It's medicinal too," she said firmly, to me and then turned to the attendant and then to me again. "Completely medicinal, Sera."
I stood near the door with my face burning while she paid, refusing to make eye contact with anyone in the vicinity. She pressed the bag into my hands outside with a smile that was far too pleased with itself.
"You'll thank me," she said simply, and kept walking.
The drive home was easy, it was the best I'd had in a long time. But it didn't last. Twenty minutes to the estate, Christy's expressions suddenly changed, her eyes darting on the rearview mirror every second. She tried to act like nothing was wrong, but I knew something was off so I turned then and that was when I saw it. A dark car with no visible plate numbers, keeping pace behind two vehicles but making sure it doesn't lose us.
“We are being followed!” I thought aloud and Christy turned to me, surprised I had noticed.
"We're fine," she assured, already reaching for her phone with one hand. "Just stay calm,” she said and swerved the car immediately and turned into another lane.
“Jesus Christ,” I whispered, trying to catch my breath.
“Sorry,” she said with a chuckle and I turned my back, the car was gone but my heart kept beating. It didn't stop beating even when Christy's car pulled into the estate, or even after I'd gone into my room. The lightness of the afternoon was gone, just like that.
I sat down on my bed and the door suddenly opened, one of the staff came in and dropped the bags before quickly leaving. I stood up and slowly bolted the door, and I suddenly remembered Christy’s advice, the tension needed somewhere to go.
I slowly opened the bag and picked up the rose, and then I groaned. I couldn't believe that I was about to do this! I lay on the bed before gently widening my legs, and then I gently put it between my legs.
I groaned then, Christy was right, this whole tension needed to be released.
I parted my legs a little more and bit my lips as the rose worked wonders in between my legs and then I sensed it, a presence, like I wasn't the only one in my room but then I pushed it to the back of my head, I had bolted the door. I pushed back and adjusted and that was when I saw the shadow, I creased my eyebrows and sat up and then my eyes widened, the rose still between my legs but I was suddenly stiff.
I had bolted my door, I was sure I had but he stood there, expressionless, making it hard to know what he thought at the moment.
Damian looked at me for exactly three seconds, before he slowly turned and walked out.
Leaving me and my rose on the bed while I looked mortified.
