Chapter 46

335 Words

CHAPTER FORTY-SIX Trev was almost at the bottom of the steps when he saw Sid. Somehow, he’d never considered the man would be here, not with the difficult terrain and Sid’s renowned hatred for exerting himself, yet here he was. Realising he’d not been seen, Trev squatted and messaged the others with his location and who he could see. Sid was exactly where Trev needed to be. He was off the steps across some rocks near the waterfall. From a hazy memory of having explored the area as a kid, Trev remembered a gap between there and the ledge. Not wide, but the rocks were wet and it wouldn’t take much to misjudge and fall. Sid was staring at the gap as if working out if it was worth the risk. Which meant what? Did he suspect Charlotte might be behind the waterfall? Was Alison already there?
