Chapter 1 : Angel Sister’s Healing?
“Hehehe~”
The unsettling sounds echoed around, prompting Oliver to open his eyes slowly. His surroundings left him bewildered as grotesque creatures with sharp teeth and deformed bodies loomed in the dim light, their scarlet eyes making his heart race. A chill crept down his spine.
With a single clear thought, Oliver concluded he had entered the underworld, surrounded by evil spirits. After all, he had died in a car accident from saving a child. Just then, a distant, desperate cry broke through, making his blood surge. It was the voice of the “angel sister.” Confusion struck him: why was an angel calling for help? And, more shockingly, why was he with these evil spirits goblins?
Suddenly, Oliver realized he had traveled through time and reincarnated into a low-level goblin in an anime world. Though reluctant to accept this bizarre reality, the healing from the angel sister seemed too good to resist. Goblin or not, there were more pressing matters to attend to.
An unknown force surged through his body, distracting him from further thoughts. He noticed the line ahead: only two goblins stood between him and the mysterious force. Yet, before they could act, a tremendous roar erupted from the bushes.
“Trash! I will kill you!”
Four or five humans, towering at about 5.7 feet, rushed forward, brandishing swords. These humans seemed colossal for the goblins, who barely reached 3 feet. Oliver watched in horror as two innocent girls were overpowered by what he could only describe as evil spirits.
“This... Is this heaven?” Oliver thought as he took in the sight. His excitement grew as the queue for the angel sister’s healing extended, both in front of and behind him. However, the joy of salvation was overshadowed by terror as the humans began their attack.
The sharp blades of the human warriors slashed through several goblins, their green, sticky blood splattering across Oliver. Goblins scrambled to fight back, but the battle was one-sided. Among the attackers stood a white-robed nun, her magic book glowing as she chanted a spell.
“First-order magic, Holy Light Impact!”
The golden light exploded, throwing goblins in every direction. Oliver, unable to escape, felt his bones nearly shattered under the force. Amid the chaos, a desperate girl pleaded for mercy, but the heavy blow of an iron sword silenced her cries. Another girl lay dead from blood loss, the gruesome sight turning Oliver’s stomach.
“Kill them all!” roared the bearded man leading the attack, his bloodshot eyes filled with hatred. Humans would not allow these goblins, tainted by their interactions with humans, to live.
It seemed that goblins could evolve by devouring other creatures or through mating. The stronger their partners, the faster they evolved, with humans providing the quickest path to becoming formidable goblin heroes or overlords.
A one-sided m******e ensued as the humans effortlessly cut down goblins left and right. Oliver, who had never fought before, stood frozen in fear, surrounded by c*****e and the sickening stench of blood. Before he could decide what to do next, all the goblins were dead—except for him.
“Captain, what do we do with this goblin?” The white-robed nun cast her magic over Oliver, enveloping him in a soft light.
Oliver, feeling oddly comfortable, panicked and pleaded, “Wait! I’m a human—reincarnated as a goblin! Don’t kill me, Sister! I believe in God! Jesus and the Virgin Mary bless you!”
Fantasies of the pretty nun and evil thoughts filled Oliver’s mind. Seeing Oliver’s quick expression, the nun soured with disgust. “You dare mention God? You are a filth!” She prepared to finish him off.
Before she could act, the stubbled man interjected, “Hold on. This goblin seems... smarter than usual. Let’s take it back. It might be a mutant.”
The two exchanged knowing glances, but Oliver, oblivious, breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Captain! I’ll repay you when I turn human again!”
The captain chuckled, “I’ll be waiting for that.”
The reality, however, soon shattered his naive hopes. Back at their base, Oliver endured weeks of torment, his body bruised and broken beyond repair.
“Poor thing,” one of them mocked, “I think I was too rough on him.”
“I’ll make a specimen out of him. Cut here... and there…”
Another sighed in boredom, “Half a month, and it’s already dying. Not even a healing potion can fix this one.”
Oliver’s vision faded as the mockery echoed around him. He perished among instruments of torture, surrounded by smug, sneering faces.
