Make mommy and daddy proud' I stare at my parents with blurry eyes, I don't want to lose them but they can't run with me. It is their job as Alpha and Luna to protect the pack at times like this. 'Alpha, they are here. Most of our pack has been slaughtered already. We need to fight' 'Where is your son Beta'? 'I am here Alpha' 'Go with Amelia. Take care of each other, and when the time comes. Avenge your pack' 'I will guard her with my life Alpha. Lia, let's go' 'Hide until it is safe for you to run, and when you start, do not stop until you are at the cave at the northern border. Am I clear' 'Yes Alpha' My mother starts chanting one of her spells, I have never heard this one before. She keeps chanting until a blue mist appears around us and circles me and Chad. I start to feel all tingly and then it disappeared. 'This should suppress your powers until your first shift. When it is time, remember everything we taught you. Fight until the end. Now go' Chad turns to his father and hugs him. My father's Beta starts crying but still looks proudly at his son. 'Go show them how real Beta's do it' After we hug our parents, Chad grabs my hand and starts running. We run up to our favorite tree, it is enchanted with spells and can hide our scents. The only people who know about this are our parents, mainly because it is mine and Chad's hiding place. But I think mom knew this would happen and we would need the tree. We sat on the tree and watched our pack fighting the rogues but they were losing. These couldn't be rogues, if I remember my father's teachings very well, rogues are not this organized. This is a planned attack, someone is after us and I want to know who it is. I spot my father's large brown wolf running towards a group of rogues ganging up on the pack doctor. He is my father's Gamma, so that must be why they are ganging up on him. They know he is powerful. The Alpha wolf snaps every head he comes across, he moves swiftly like the well trained, experienced Alpha he is. It is almost like he is a k.illing machine with how he is going..... Until, a black wolf, the same size as my father comes towards the middle of the war field. He stands there, staring down my father, as my father stares back at him. He too, must be an Alpha, and this means one thing, this whole war can be over in a second. See, if an Alpha dies, the whole pack goes weak. Too weak to defend themselves, so the other pack will win. I trust my father's fighting skills. Both in human and wolf form, but that wolf is too smug for my liking. He knows something we don't and that piece of knowledge sends shivers down my spine. I see Chad's father next to mine and another gray wolf stands next to the other Alpha. It's Alpha on Alpha.... And Beta on Beta. The other wolves on the field continue to fight, paying no attention to the shxt that's about to go down in the middle. My heart beats loudly against my chest, I start to feel sick, I feel it before I see it. My pack is about to be destroyed in front of my eyes, I am going to lose my whole family.... Any.. Minute... Now. In a split second, they all charge at each other. Fighting mercilessly, biting, pulling, growling. There is blood everywhere and they are all getting slower by the second but no one is backing out. That is until.... I see a white, blood stained dress in the middle of it all. My mother is running towards the Alpha fighting my dad, with a silver spear in hand. That is the spear she swore she would never use, as it is enchanted with a very strong spell. And this is something to be grateful for.... I will know how to find him when I need to. She hits him right on the right ribcage... He is able to retaliate immediately and snaps her neck, while the Beta attacks Chad's father and ki.lls him. As soon as my mother's lifeless body falls to the ground...... My father's neck is snapped in an instant and the rest of the pack either dies, or submits to the new Alpha. We lost........ As everything quiets down... The Alpha starts howling in victory and his pack howls with him. While the remaining members of my pack, howl in agony. Chad shakes my shoulder. '' We have to go Amelia. We can't risk being found'' I look up to him and his face mirrors my own, he is in pain, with tears streaming down his face but the strongest emotion, is rage. And I know I look the same to him. We get down from the tree and start running towards the north. It will take about thirty minutes of none stop running to reach the cave. Another thing no one knows about. We run for about 20 minutes before we hear rustling between the trees. "Amelia, Chad"! Naya calls. She is one of the high schooler she wolves of our pack and the daughter of the head chef. "What are you doing here"? Chad asks her and she looks around before responding. "Luna said to grab all the pups and non fighters and come this way. She told us to come with you" she says in panic. I can tell Chad does not believe her and so I hold her hand. One of my gifts is to tell if someone is lying to me and Naya isn't. "How many are there"? I ask her and she calls them over. "Come guys, there are 26 of us. 11 pups under 16 and 15 omegas including me". I look at them, most are crying but trying to hide it. "We all run, no stopping until we get there" and we all take off running to the cave.... It is hidden among the trees and stocked with food to last us a year or so. But considering our appetites, it might only last six months. We will have to figure it out. As we settle down for the night, it all comes back to me. Night Walker Pack is no more.... And I will avenge them.
