Time and Space I wrote this short fiction because I was teaching a story-writing class and couldn’t find a good example of second-person future tense. The result is a chance to speak directly to you, the reader, about what’s coming. Oddly for an author who favors hints of magical realism to make a point, this one is simply real. Sure, everybody’s details are different, but you’ll do this. Maybe you already have. Thanks to Scott Watson, whose gorgeous photo of an old tractor in Inkster, Michigan, prompted the final story in this collection.
