The Age-Eater For the penultimate tale in this collection, I’m offering one more from a fantasy realm. Really not much of a fantasy writer myself, I wrote this while editing several fantasy novels, so I was in the mood. This has appeared a few places, but I’ve kept it to myself for more than a decade. It’s here now—here as the book nears its conclusion—because it says something I think needs saying. Or something I want to say. Our bodies age, our faculties decline.
