“What are you going to do?” Elise asked as Ramsey walked away.
I looked at her and shook my head. “I don’t know.”
“Do you still love him?”
I nodded. “Yeah, of course.”
“Then you should go after him.”
I shook my head. “I can’t. Not right now. I don’t know if he’s telling the truth. He can’t erase all the pain he caused in one day. Yeah, it was a pretty great apology, but it’s not good enough. Not yet.”
Elise smiled and lifted her glass. “Good for you. I wasn’t strong enough to say no with my ex. And I paid for it. Ramsey’s a good guy, but you deserve to be treated better.”
I nodded. Damn right I did.
