Sophia
Fight practice wasn’t really my thing and honestly if I could have helped it only my twin Silas should have been there for it, but apparently, they wanted me as well. Despite not liking it, I was rather good at it. Maybe me being a little bored with it was the reason why I didn’t want to be there. I hated knowing that my brother was going to be the Alpha while I most likely was going to get married so some Alpha and become his Luna in order to make alliances. I remember getting the hard truth last year.
---
“Sophia, we need to talk” She had said pulling me to the side in the pack house. It was quite funny since they spent so much time training me the same way as Silas.
“As it’s costume in Silver Moon Pack the oldest become the Alpha, and that falls upon your brother” she said as if it was news to me. He was merely 8 seconds older than me, yet he had gotten the title by birth. I knew I could challenge him, but he was my brother and I loved him. I was better than him already which I didn’t mind if I became his Beta. Of course, my mother had other plans.
“In order to help your brother, you need to marry an Alpha” She had finished before I got to say anything.
I couldn’t believe my own ears. Here I was just having gotten my wolf and she had decided that I was the weaker one? The one only to be the side kick of someone else I didn’t even know.
“But what about my fated Mate? The one given by the Moon Goddess?” I hissed. In honesty I didn’t care about that, but I did care about not having a choice. I was getting send away as soon as I was old enough and that was enough for me to try and figure something out.

After being told what I couldn’t do because of my belated birth, I wanted to do whatever I could in order to be stronger than my brother and challenge him for the title of Alpha when the time came. Something I dreaded. He didn’t know about what mother had told me and possibly when he became Alpha, he wouldn’t agree. But I had no certainty. It was still in two years, and I was sure I could still make a lot of mistakes before that to make him not want me nearby.
“Hey Sophia, Adam and I are going to the beach after, want to join us?” Silas asked after the third time I had whipped him onto his ass. Adam was his best friend, and the son of Beta Cornelius. I grimaced as I helped him up.
“Haven’t I been hurting you enough and now you want me to go to the outskirts of our territory for what? Water? Have you hurt your head a little?” I giggled.
“No dude, Adam just … Never mind if you don’t want to come that’s fine” Silas finished off. I was intrigued by the whole Adam part of it, and it wasn’t as if I had better things to do.
“Of course, I want to join you, stupid head” I replied quickly with a smile. There was nothing wrong with hanging with the Beta’s son. He was Silas’s best friend, so it wasn’t weird in any way. Besides I wanted to make sure my brother was alright.

After a few more rounds of throwing my brother to the ground I quickly ran up to change clothes. It was a rather hot summer day which meant we probably would be needing our swimsuits, and honestly, I hadn’t been to the beach in a long time so finding mine took more than a minute, but I managed to find it. Before long we were in the car with Adam, who was a year older and already had gotten his driver’s license. Most of the time we would probably just run out there, but the car had air condition.
“Hey Soph. Wow. Adam remarked as I sat myself into the car. He looked at me like I was an Alien. Hadn’t he seen me in a dress before? I couldn’t quite remember, and I looked myself over once
“What do I have something on my face or?” I asked frustrated as I took a mirror out. I hadn’t really been too bothered with looking in the mirror before running out although I was more focused on getting to the beach and cool off.
“No no. I mean, erm” he started trailing off the track a bit and I caught his eyes in the mirror. I realised quickly what he was trying to insinuate.
“You don’t look too bad yourself,” I saved him smirking at him a bit. It wasn’t really a lie. He cleaned up nicely, even though they had only really been training. His chocolate brown hair seemed like it was sparkling, and the smell around him was a mix of grass, training mat and a cologne I couldn’t quite place. Not very different from normally.
“Can’t we get going already?” Silas came from the passenger side, and I couldn’t agree more.

The beach was wonderful as what I could see from the backseat. I hadn’t really been there for a long time with all the practice I had tried to cramp in, and the etiquette lessons my mother had been forcing upon me. That and cooking. Couldn’t have a Luna not knowing how to cook, she always said.
I stepped out of the car and took a long hard breath getting all the air down into my lungs. A smell I hadn’t really noticed before tickled me. It smelled like burned wood but as I opened my eyes, I saw no campfire anywhere. I really did like that smell a lot and kind of wanted to know from where it came, however it seemed to fate to the background and leaving the salty water to take over.
The beach was my favorite place to be, yet because it was so close to the boarder, I had an irrational fear of getting attacked there. Especially as my father had decided to share the beach with other packs as a sign of kindness. I wasn’t much for it as it was an open place and if a lot of people did happen to be there at once one would never see the attack coming.
“Hey, I haven’t seen you here before,” A voice came from behind me and startled me.
