CHAPTER 16
While Cole was discovering love in Luling, Cory was about to bump into it in Holcomb. He had taken Grammy to town to shop. After parking, they were walking down the street to the store. Cory had turned his head to talk to Grammy, when he bumped into Ellen coming out of the realtor’s office. He put his arms around her to keep her from falling. When his arms went around her, a shock went through them both. Cory felt her shock and his own.
He stood there gazing at her in amazement. She was gazing back at him. Neither said anything. They looked to be in a trance. Finally, Cory blinked, and Ellen smiled.
“I know you,” he said.
Ellen nodded. “We have been neighbors almost all of our lives,” said Ellen.
