CHAPTER 9
After her nap, Althea put Ellie back in her playpen and left her with Cory watching her while she started supper. When the food was cooking, Althea went to the living room to check on Ellie.
“Well, Blue eyes, I’m going to be a big brother,” said Cory sadly. “I will not be able to see my brother or sister much. It is too far to visit.” Cory looked at Ellie thoughtfully. “Maybe you can be my little sister, and I will be your big brother,” said Cory smiling at the idea.
Althea had been about to enter the room when she heard Cory’s words. She came into the room and looked at Cory. “How did you find out about the new baby?” she asked.
Cory looked up at her puzzled at the question. “Cole told me,” he replied.
“Cole, how did he find out?” asked Althea.
