Jason drove Alan to town the next morning. He parked close to the hardware store and went inside looking for his friend Ed. Ed was at the counter waiting on a customer. They waited patiently for him to finish before approaching him.
“Hello, Ed, this is my friend Alan Kerris. He is moving here from Luling, Virginia. Alan, meet Ed Ames.” said Jason.
“It is nice to meet you, Alan,” said Ed holding out his hand to shake.
Alan shook his hand and smiled at him. “I hope Jason did not put you on the spot about a job for me,” commented Alan.
