Chapter 11

Damon POV Ashton's reserve seems to be fading. "Can I watch you shift" Ashton asked me. So matter of fact, as if she hadn't just learn of our kind 12 hours prior. Just as I was about to answer there was a knock at the door. "Come in" I called out Beta Grady opened the door. "Ashton, this is my Beta Grady" I introduced her. "Ashton, Alpha" he nodded. "A few of our warriors did a full sweep of the camp grounds in the area where Ashton was found, we could not locate any person belongings or anyone staying there" I looked to Ashton to see how she would react. "I need to go back to my house then" she stated. "I will take you back to your house and two of my men will accompany us, once you've gathered what you need, we will return back to the pack house." I nodded to Grady as I spoke, signaling him to prepare the car. "Are you expecting me to just abandon my entire life, move here and never look back?" Ashton asked. Truth is, for the most part yes. I understand she may want some contact with certain people but I'm also assuming all of the people currently in her life are human. She no longer fit in with their world. I gave her a different answer. "Ashton, until you learn to control your wolf, it is not safe to be around humans. And you have until the next full moon to gain control before your body forces a shift. That can be very dangerous. You need to stay here with us until then" I hoped that answer would satisfy her. Ashton POV A month. He is expecting me to abandon my friends, family and school for a month while I learn to be a wolf. I still wasn't sure I even believed in this whole thing. That's why I asked to see him shift. Maybe if I saw it with my own eyes I could believe it. But part of me worried, what if he was right and I left anyways. Finally I agreed. "Alright, you take me to my house, I gather some belongings and we return here" I said. I wasn't exactly sure why I wanted to return home. Maybe Sean had left my stuff at my house after he left the campsite. Third POV The drive was only 45 minutes. By the time we were pulling in the turning a golden yellow color, preparing to set for the night. It was quiet, the house was dark and there were no vehicles anywhere in sight. Once the car was in park, Ashton jumped out and headed for the front door. Damon immediately got out to follow. Ashton turned as if she wanted to protest but must have changed her mind. They both stepped inside and closed the door behind them. Ashton POV My bag from last night wasn't here. I guess Sean didn't come by after all. Not that I really expected him to. I went to my bedroom, grabbed a suitcase from my closet and began packing some clothes, toiletries and some other personal items. I found an old cell phone I had stashed in a drawer. This will have to do I thought. I took one more glance around, closed my bedroom door and headed back into the living room where Damon was standing. He was looking at some pictures on the wall. "Who is this?" He asked. Looking at the picture he was pointing to I responded, "that is my parents and me at 7 years old. My mom died 2 years later". He opened his mouth to say something but then abruptly shut it, his head whipping toward the door. Third POV Suddenly an old truck came flying down the street and flew right into the driveway behind us, screeching to a halt. "Alpha, someone just pulled up behind us. He seems upset" I mind linked Alpha Damon.
