Chapter 7

654 Words
Ashton POV I tried to sit up once again, this time slower. The man guided me gently before letting go. I noticed a tingle on my skin where his hands had been. I suddenly noticed I was only in a bra. Quickly pulling the blanket over me, my mind flashed back to the campfire, the moment with Sean removing my shirt and then the pain..... so much pain. Sean.... he had said my eyes were glowing. He acted like he didn't even know who I was. Was he really going to shoot me? "I'm Dr. Crawford," said the woman, pulling me from my thoughts. "How are you feeling?" Doctor, so this must be some sort of clinic? "I'm... I'm not sure" I barely managed to say. The man handed me a glass of water. I took a small sip. "Where am I?" "You're in my pack house" the man answered. "What is your name? "Ashton" Something about him made it difficult to look away. I felt my body relax and want to be near him. A complete stranger..... Wait.... did he said pack house? "Pack house? What is a pack house" I asked. Dr Crawford POV "What is going on? Does she have memory loss? How does she not know what a pack house is?" Alpha Damon mind linked me. "I'm not sure" I quickly said. "It's kind of like a community home" I responded to her. "Ashton, I'm going to ask you a series of questions to help me determine what has happened to you, okay" "Okay" said Ashton "First, can you tell me what your last memory is?" Ashton POV Immediately I blushed and glanced around realizing I don't know who this man is. Is he another doctor? He said it was his house. He must have sensed my hesitation. "My name is Damon, this is my house and whatever you say here is confidential. You're completely safe here" he said" Even though I didn't know this man, something told me I could trust him. I let out a deep breath. "I was camping in the woods with my boyfriend, we were.... together..... by the campfire." I hesitated, unsure how to tell the next part. I was going to sound crazy. Did I just hear a growl.... I glanced toward Damon who cleared his throat. "Go on" Dr Crawford urged. "I started feeling pain throughout my body, everywhere, down to my bones. I've never felt anything like it before. And then when I looked back to my boyfriend he has said.....he said that....." "Are you struggling to remember?" Dr Crawford asked. "No, it just doesn't make sense. It sounds crazy, I'm not crazy." Or maybe I am I thought. "It okay" Dr Crawford reassured me. "I promise, we do not think you're crazy" I let out another deep breath. "He said my eyes were glowing yellow. He pulled out his shot gun. He was going to shoot me so I ran. I ran until my legs gave out and then pain came back even worse than before. Then everything went dark and I woke up here" I stared at Dr Crawford and Damon waiting for a reaction. Damon looked angry, almost murderous. Dr Crawford looked.... amused. Did I see a small smirk across her face? Dr Crawford was the first to speak. "Ashton, you're not crazy and there is nothing wrong with you. I know this may sound scary or unreal but I believe I know what happened to you tonight" she said. I didn't speak. Just waited. "You have a wolf, inside you. She was trying to surface for the first time during the full moon tonight. The first shift is always painful, especially if you aren't aware of what is happening. And I'm guessing, you are not aware that you're a werewolf?" Dr Crawford said. I stared at her, unsure of what I just heard. Wolf.... werewolf....? That's not possible.
