Chapter 5

Ashton POV

"Sean, that was delicious."

He had made my favorite, steak, a baked potato and a fresh garden salad.

Just then, he pulled out a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and s'mores ingredients.

I grabbed a strawberry and held up it up to his lips.

He took a bite, his eyes not leaving mine.

Chocolate sat on his lips.... pretty sure he did that on purpose.

I grabbed both sides of his jaw and pulled him a little closer to me. I licked the chocolate off of his bottom lip, followed by a sweet kiss on his lips.

Before I could pull away, he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me onto his lap, deepening the kiss.

Our tongues found each other, the intensity of the kiss immediately brining back the warm feeling in my belly.

It was just us, the crackling of the fire, the stars and the beautiful full moon.

What was I so nervous about? This was perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Sean began pulling my shirt over my head, just then a strange intensity surfaced from somewhere deep in my body. Something I've never felt before and couldn't explain.

Somewhere between a wild hungry intense urge... for what I don't know.

Then a slight pain, somewhere deep with my bones.

What was happening to me?

I pulled away from Sean for a moment to catch my breath.

"What's wrong...." Sean started to say but abruptly stopped while scrambling to his feet.

I looked up at him with questioning eyes.

"What the f**k is wrong with your eyes?" Sean yelled at me.

"What are you talking about?" I said while touching my face and eyes.

"Your eyes are glowing yellow, Ashton, what the f**k is going on?" Sean continued to yell while backing away from me.

I went to stand up when a pain so intense shot through my body, I could help but yell out in agony. A yell that almost sounded..... like a growl.

Did that noise just come out of me?

I glanced toward Sean who was fumbling for his duffle.

I started to move toward him when he pulled out his 12 gauge.

I froze

"What the f**k are you? And what did you do to my girlfriend" he yelled.

"Sean, it's me I swear. Something is wrong" I moved toward him and he stumbled backwards, raising his weapon in my direction.

I did the only thing I could think.

I turned and I ran.

I ran as fast as I could, deep into the woods. I didn't know if Sean was chasing me so I continued to run until my legs burned with fatigue. I stopped and looked around, realizing I had no idea where I was.

I was in the middle of nothing but trees and darkness. And the full moon high above.

I was completely lost.

Just then a realization hit....

The dream.

This was my dream. I began searching around me to see if I was being watched. The image of blue and golden eyes flashed in my mind.

Then the pain hit me once again. The intense pain that felt like it started in my bones and spread through my entire body.

I began to tremble and fell to the ground unable to move.

Maybe I was dying.

This was it, I was dying all alone, lost in the middle of the woods.

The intensity grew until my vision blurred.

Everything went silent and the last thing I remember seeing was a pair of blue eyes watching me.
